Sup John. First off, start using the Scar as soon as you unlock it and try the kick proficiency. At first I was trying to fight the good fight with the M16 because I like me some 3 round burst weapons, M16 in MW2 and G11 in BO, but out of frustration, I tried the Scar and that seemed to help me a lot. I think once you find a weapon that you like, stick with it for a while because it will get better. I've moved onto the Type 95 and I'm really liking it, it's probably gonna be the one for me in this game. Also, as soon as you kill someone, turn around and be ready, the spawning is a little crazy. It seems like the game tries to force you into a certain play style, fast and furious, at least more so than the last two COD games imo.

Good luck dude and hang in there, I was frustrated early on too but things have since gotten way better.....Type 95 FTW.

Thanks for the tips.

And man you have the best KD spread on my friends list by quite a bit.

well certain guns do much higher damage.

The reason why people used the Ak 74u in Black ops so much because it was as powerful as an assault rifle and with rapid fire and grip it was deadly.

I find MW3 multi player way harder then Black Ops.

In Black Ops it was much easier for a noob. I had Ghost Pro, War Lord Pro and Second Chance Pro and used Claymores like a cheap bastard. Oh it was so easy in comparison...

Aye same here man! In Black Ops I had a solid 1.5 KD spread (and that was with crappy people playing on my account) but in MW3 I find myself rejoicing if I get a 1.0 KD spread in a game. In fact my overall KD spread right now is .84 :/

Yeah I'm with you there! MW3 is definitely harder to avoid death. In Black Ops and MW2 I held 3.00k/d ratios when I was going super try hard, but right now I'm like a 1.6/1.7 so mine's pretty much cut in half as well. Granted I do play basically just Kill Confirmed and many of my deaths are rushing out for dog tags.

What's ridiculous is tonight when I was playing team deathmatch I got worked so bad (about 3 kills and 35 deaths in a span of a few games) but I switched over to Kill Confirmed and went close to even and even positive in 1 game.

Yeah well camping with a headset will get you that :)

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

That I can believe. Team deathmatch is actually really hard to play b/c its so riddled with campers. If you try to rush in TDM you just get killed constantly. Kill Confirmed has campers but not nearly as bad (I don't think).

the maps are to small and there is no safe area, there are a ton of spawn kills.

Generally the maps in Black Ops allowed to fire at people and the chances of being flanked were much lower.

The MW3 maps are designed for flanking, they want every one to rush. No defense allowed lol...

Now I'm really curious how everyone gets such high K/D ratios... in COD4 I had 1.33 and none of my friends had above 2, I have some friends who are really, really good. In Bad Company 2 my K/D is 1.59 and that took me some time to, how many kills do you guys have in total and how long have you been playing?

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"

"England expects that everyman will do his duty"

"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

well I had a 2.0 in Black ops with 2000 kills. If I kept going I would have done much better.

By the time you have 1000-1500 kills, you should be getting a + K/D ratio in every game.

The K/D ratio is usually distorted as you likely died like crazy when you first started.

At starting levels I'd recommend the M4A1 assault rifle and the UMP smg. I'd then ditch the M4A1 for the SCAR as soon as you unlock it, and then work on leveling up the SCAR and UMP. These should get you through the early levels till you unlock enough new guns to see what fits your style best (personally I'm running my UMP with a silencer and "range" perk, I really like that combo).

In p2p games there will always be someone with a better connection than you (unless you are host!), but I've gone on some pretty good kill streaks with the UMP and SCAR, even when I didn't have the best connection.

Also, are you playing the "support" strike package? This will allow your kills to count towards your killstreak rewards, even if you die in between.

Playing Gears 3 and MW3 on alternating nights means I ended up being good at both, but great at neither. Ugh.

If you find its laggy or your bullets don't seem to kill as fast as you get killed...try turning off theater mode in the multiplayer options menu. Apparently that gets rid of a lot of the lag...and is one of the reasons Black Ops was so much laggier than MW2. Theatre mode I guess uses up a lot of bandwith or something and slows down your connection.

Hey thanks i'll try that.

John guns are unlocked by your level and further features of guns are unlocked by using the gun more and more. They did take away stopping power but i think they just increased the damage a bit. Thus, dying faster but that is usual COD.

lol, have you played a CoD game? that's like in every game since MW1, you might be running into sinpers since for some strange reason IW brought quick scooping back. and CoD probably has the most shotty hit detection I've ever seen...sometimes it will take about 2-4 shots to kill someone and then another time it will take like ten shots

No i've been legitely getting killed by 1-3 shots from automatic weapons. It's so bad sometimes that after I pump about 10 bullets into them they shoot me with 2 and I die (and a lot of the time they don't even get head shots)

I've never played a game that punishes you more for being a low level than MW3.

This happens to me too, my weapons feel so underpowered compared to everyone else.
