Well I was trying to figure out how to create this topic but its just so bizarre I went with what I did, if you can think of a better title I might change it.

Anyways Chicago Resident 36 year old Raymond Harris was on parole after serving 13 years of a 30 year sentence.

"In 1997, just weeks after he was released from jail on an armed robbery conviction, Harris invaded the home of a woman, beating and raping her repeatedly over several hours, prosecutors said.Harris then slit the victim's throat, knocked her unconscious and set her house on fire. The woman woke up with her legs in flames and suffered third-degree burns but survived."

Anyways what does this man do now that he is back on the streets? Well he breaks into an elderly womens home Virginia Perillo. He beat her to the point where she was brain dead. By the time she was found she had lost a lot of blood and being brain dead she died in the hospital two days later.

Police tried to establish motive and found some things missing from Virginia Perillo's home. Including both her wedding and engagement rings. Well Raymond the sick fuck had gone to a party with his friends during which he announced his intentions to marry his girl friend, he showed them two rings and asked which one they thought he should propose with. They were in decisive so one week later Raymond proposed to his girlfriend using both rings. She said yes accepting the rings of that poor elderly women.

Upon his arrest the women promptly returned the rings apologizing to police. Man that must have been a shocker "Maam the ring your boy friend proposed to you with, he took of an elderly womens corpse after he beat her to death". Anyways the moral of the story is don't let some psychopath like this onto the streets less then half way through his sentence.

Hopefully this guy never gets a chance to ask another girl to marry him and rots the rest of his life behind bars!

I was going to times are tough with this economy as a joke... but this story is sick. Sicko's like that should have never been allowed to leave prison. Sometimes our system is a joke. I don't care if you lock him in solitary confinement, kill him, or rehab him... but you can't let the guy out into the public again.

"Man Killed Old Woman, Took Her Wedding Ring To Propose To Girlfriend" sounds better to me.

And yes, why the hell was this sick fuck released at all?

This is one of the reasons why I think we need to develop a more flexible judicial system that can protect citizens from the likely violent repeat offender while not being overly punitive to first time more minor offenders. While there are cases where a person can commit (or attempt) murder, or some other violent offence, and still be making a rational/reasonable (therefore indicating some form of rehabilitation is possible), when someone demonstrates violent/sexual sadistic behaviour when committing a crime like this there really is no reason to believe they can be rehabilitated.

Realistically, after he was convicted the first time he should (probably) have never been free every again.

a) Raping, beating and slitting the throat of a woman, then setting her house on fire is not enough for death penalty?
b) Why would any woman accept to be the girlfriend of a man with a record like that?

Yeah, I don't see him telling her about his police record over dinner on their 2nd date.  Or any person telling anyone about their police record when they are trying to go out with a person.  I know one woman (paranoid as all hell) who looks up the guys that she dates online and checks their police record, etc... but that's it.

Smart woman right there, all of them should do that.

"Man kills"would probably work better if you don't want to change the title... but yeah, I'd just change the whole thing. Like a great reviewer once told me, "it's better to write clear boring sentences than to try to be creative with words." Sometimes the creativity and puns are just not there. I learned to just be straightforward with words.

How about "Murderer to propose with victim's ring"?

Yes well... she's also still single too.  :p  But yeah, its not the worst idea.
