I think MW3 has kind of turned into the "console shooter." Most people I know with PC's prefer Battlefield 3.

It turned into a console shooter along with MW2's release 2 years ago.

Very impressive for Skyrim.Console sales should be just as impressive.

still I would have expected MW3 to be higher, the past games have always been pretty active on PC

When Activision reduced or even removed the freedom players had to mod the game and host their game servers, when it crippled the free community value, imposing a centralised one instead, it seriously damaged a strong selling point for PC gamers. I know the objection, a small percent of users hosts servers, even a lower one mods the games: true, but quite a large share of users, instead, enjoys and appreciates the efforts of that small minority.

Anyway, Skrotick doesn't care, he prefers to lose some PC gamers and secure a larger market on consoles, good for him, but luckily for us PC gamers, it's a rule of the market that if someone neglects a part of the market, someone else grabs it, we'll enjoy games from different devs and publishers.

One of my friends played it for about 2-3 days then came right back to play BF3 PC with us. I asked how it was and he only said one word: "disappointing," then we never mentioned MW3 again in any conversation going onward.

That's why I don't want to buy it, I'd spend too much time on it and a lot of good games are already here or coming out soon on PC, and snowboarding season is about to start, maybe when it's on Steam sale.

The majority of my friends have bought this on PC. Even the ones that normally buy these types of games on consoles.

Obviously the consoles will sell the most, but its not surprising that the PC version is doing well. Elder Scrolls games really benefit from mods.

I wonder if it can top 300k players?
