Forums - Gaming Discussion - Console exclusive games which should get a PC port, and why...

After finishing the very awesome Sonic Generations on the PC I figured to ask which other console-minded games you guys think should get a PC port and for what reasons.

My list would be:

Alan Wake: It was absolutely clear that 360 was holding that game back visually quite a bit. Also not many PC games like Alan Wake are available. Alan Wake on 3 screens in 1080p per screen would have been an experience for sure.

Bayonetta: Bayonetta has a very clean look and lots of crazy effects on screen...this would look mindblowing on PC when using Nvidia 3D vision.

Any Super Mario/Zelda/Metroid: Its about time for Nintendo to make some money on an offical PC ports of their best games as currently 1000's of people are playing superior versions of their games using Dolphin emulator in full HD.

Amen.

Every single game where the gamer is obligated to use an analog stick to aim.

if only PC had a standerdized system requirments and had video game suitable peripherals

but that would not let PC's advance the way they do as freedom of system requirements is what has made PC so much technically stronger platform

Gaming is great for the players. But unfortunately corporations don't give a shit about that aspect of what gamers "want"; rather, the 'console exclusives' are what need to be shown off to push more sales of each corporations product. Yeah, it sucks to play a shooter with a controller. But..it's an experience designed that way, to be played that way.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Of the ones that I think would be great and possible, even if unlikely

Red Dead Redemption: Does this need an explanation? The mods alone would be enough

Vanquish: Apparently there was a PC build at one point but they decided to focus on console and I guess it didn't sell enough for a port. But it seems like the perfect game for mouse and keyboard control @ 60fps.

Alan Wake: Originally a PC led game before Microsoft decided that they wanted to kick PC gamers while they were down after locking games like Halo 2 (a way late port) down to Vista only even tho a simple hack made the game fully playable on XP and cancelling all their internal PC projects wasn't enough.

Dragon's Dogma: An action adventure with some WRPG sensibilities, the game would be perfect on PC.

Forza 4: Imagine how great this game would look with full DX11 tessellation and running at full 1080p or even surround 3x1080p 3D for those with more cash than sense.

Dark Souls: This game would be perfect on PC the home of hardcore RPGs from rougelikes to the Witcher 2 which sold a million copies.

Halo Reach: The game wouldn't even be hurt by the lack of Halo 3 on PC, Forge mode would be way better on PC no doubt and the PC modding community could make some truly great stuff.

Iron Brigade/Trenched: More mech games are always welcome.

Dust 514: I know they don't want to take away to much time from EVE but this game belongs on PC

And the games I wish would come to PC even tho I know there is no real hope but would be cool if they did

Valkyria Chronicles: I love me some SRPGs

FF Vs XIII: clearly the PS3 is holding this game back and the PC needs more JRPGs

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I would love to see Killzone on PC. It does about as best as the ps3 can muster, but the server system would be greatly improved on PC. The KB+M support would just be gravy.

Ask me about being an elitist jerk

Time for hype

Get yourself an Xbox 360 if you want to play Alan Wake. It's a great game. Stop wishing it was on PC. It wouldn't be better on PC. Xbox 360 didn't hold it back, the devs did by working on it for 7 years.

PC has it's exclusives. Should they go to the consoles while consoles exclusives go to PC?

Maybe all platforms should have all games. Maybe there should just be one platform and Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and all the 3rd parties could just make games for that one super platform.

It could be called Platform Comprehensive, P.C. for short.

What a wonderfully non-competitive market it would be. PC gamers would be happy because all the silly console kids would be PC gamers like them. Sorry, I mean P.C. gamers like them.

What's the point of exclusives anyway? It's not like consumers choosing between products causes positive growth through healthy competition. And it's certainly not like if you want to play games unavailable on your platform you can just go out and buy another platform. I mean, we all know that by law, we have to choose one single platform and act like the rest are evil and ruining gaming.

It's fanboy wars or nothing right? Death to those don't get to play the games we claim to hate!

I want it :(

Also, I want GT5, since most of its problems is related to the lack of power of the PS3.
Heavy Rain, the lack of AA (or low AA) really annoyed me while playing it.
FFXIII, the art is gorgeous, it would be awesome to be able to play using the high polygon models always.

@kain_kusanagi: you missed completely the point of the thread.
