Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Twenty Most Breathtaking Sights You’ll Ever See in Skyrim

I had an awesome view when a giant knocked me over a 100 ft into the air, too bad I can't make screenshots on the ps3. The game sure is pretty from a distance.

Looks great! i will wait for the Wii U version though

You can't play this game right until you play it on PC.

Pretty sure if I tried to play it on my PC I wouldn't enjoy it.

As for the screens in the OP, most are impressive and beautiful, but if that's taken from an article then there are 3 or 4 pics in there that don't really belong in anything listing "breathtaking" sights... especially the third pic. I mean I assume they are giants or something, but it's not a particularly interesting pic.

why not? , if its about controllers, you can hook up a 360 controller and play it like a console game.

what i mean't is the best thing about skyrim, is well... Skyrim, the whole world is a living breathing "Character" , so if you make that world ugly, then i don't think you are playing it right.

It's more that I probably wouldn't be able to run the start menu on my laptop

I was on the fence between pc version and console version as well. The store decided for me, pc version was sold out. I don't regret it after my experience with The witcher 2. I did finally get it to work on my big screen tv, however hmdi from my pc is limited to stereo and on top of that the dialogue sound regularly kept crapping out leaving just the environmental sounds. My 360 controller is not compatible with my pc, so I still ended up with keyboard and mouse on my lap. Plus I had some horrible slow down in certain areas making it very difficult to fight. Deus Ex was only playable on my pc with v-sync turned of, resulting is some horrendous screen tearing.

It might not look as good on console (why bother with shadows if you make them look that poor), but the whole experience is a lot smoother with proper surround sound. The uncompressed 5.1 sound is excellent on the ps3. The only thing I miss is being able to make screenshots.

Of course if I could somehow convince my wife it's a good idea to spend a 1000 bucks on a new gaming pc then I would get it on pc in a heart beat. Any tips?

Tips?

well build your own computer, don't buy it stock , its cheaper and easier to do upgrades later on.

as for sound, use a headset , its the best way to play games and Skyrim supports 7.1 , there are headsets that have virtual 7.1

So, the top twenty most breathtaking sights of Skyrim don't look half as good as the twenty worst sights of Gears of War 3/Uncharted 3.

What's the point?

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

You don't need a very powerful PC to run Skyrim easily. Could probably get a PC for 500 dollars and run everything on high with close to 60 fps

Also, don't forget about the mods with the PC version. Are you sure the PS3 sound is uncompressed? Isn't the game disk just as large (small) as the PC/360 versions?

Don't forget about tax and other little things that all add up.

The dialogue doesn't sound uncompressed, but the music and sound effects are not compressed after mixing on the way to the amp. It makes a difference. The install is a little bigger on ps3 (4.3) then 360 (3.8) but that could just as well be the installer unpacking some of the data.
