If I recall Sony's approach with the move was one of softly softly does it , bring it to the market as an accessory that gives players another option rather than trying to make it integral to the PS3 experience , So there was no need to give it a large advertising budget or have heaps of move titles in the pipeline , instead push integration with titles like KZ 3 e.t.c , like they seem to be doing with 3D and mix that with a select number of Move branded titles.
At least that's my take on it.

That's was exactly their strategy.  Before they even released it they said they felt it would be a slow burn.  So there may be fewer Move only games, but there are tons of games that are including it as an optional control method.  Which is something I prefer really.  Plus, where are all the Motion+ games, Reggie?

@ Rol

What are you talking about?  He's a great salesman!  Doesn't this just make you want to run out and grab a 3DS?

Whoa Reggie. Maybe thats true about Move. After all, its extremely hard to think of dedicated Move games that got critical acclaim on Metacritic, not a dualshock 3 game with move support tacked on as an afterthought. But Kinect has some great games since its release, Dance Central, Kinect Sports, Child of Eden, and Gunstringer come to mind.

The move has more critical acclaim than the 360 when you look at the games that are "compatible." But at the same time, I think both lists are a bit incomplete.

Metacritic is a horrible source to list Kinect and Move games. For instance, it has games like Gunstringer, Dance Central 2, PowerUp Heroes, etc. that are not even listed as kinect games. Then they have games like Madden that don't use kinect.

Lol he is acting as if the Wii is doing amazing with it's library atm.

wow you somehow managed to turn something completely unrelated, into another chance to bash sony/ps3/move.

congratulations, you've leveled up. i believe your troll ranking is off the charts.

i hope you realize that Child of Eden is also on PS3 with move support, and its actually better with it.

and what move compatible games would you be refering to, when you say they were tacked on as an after thought. surely youre not talking about Killzone 3, Socom 4, or Resistance 3 because those game couldnt be anything further from having tacked on support, i can guarantee you that i will destroy 95% of Dualshock3 players when i play online using the move. especially in Killzone 3 which still today has the best implementation of pointer controls of any FPS. and it absolutely rapes the standard controller in terms of accuracy and precision.

perhaps when you were talking about tacked on controls you were referring to Mass effect, Ghost Recon, and Halo: CEA kinect support

It's becoming increasingly obvious that Reggie was never really good in the first place. The DS and Wii were such great products that they sold themselves. Now with the greatness being taken away (in other words, 3DS and Wii U), Reggie has to prove how good of a salesman he is and he is doing a poor job.

He also worked as Chief Marketing Officer at Derby Cycle Corporation, directing sales and marketing efforts for eight brands. Well you can't entirely credit Reggie but during his first fiscal year at Nintendo 2003 ending in 2004. Nintendo's profits were pretty high they sold more GameCube's then ever before. The GameBoy Advance also did fairly well leading into DS. Reggie's marketing was some of the best I have ever seen and I would credit his marketing with a huge part of Wii/DS's success.

He was an amazing spokesman, but you are right DS and Wii were amazing products and could sell themselves. Wait, GameCube, N64 and GBA were all amazing products that should have sold themselves, they had Nintendo's biggest brands behind them. Yet the best game consoles to come out during the 90's and even GameCube which was easily the second most powerful console with the best first party software failed.

Without an amazing ad campaign Nintendo would not have seen the success they did with Wii/DS.

A reason I think Reggie is faultering now is he has been taken out of his element. He is a marketing exec, his specialty is marketing products. But as President Of NOA marketing isn't his main priority, he now has to worry about everything within Nintendo Of America. In fact marketing was outsourced almost entirely.

Reggie is a marketing expert who is no longer marketing, you can't blame him for the horrible marketing currently going on. As for his statement's he is simply spouting off what Iwata wants him too, my bet is he is not even allowed to say everything he wants he has to shape how he runs Nintendo Of America with how Iwata wants it run.

Reggie is amazing but right now Nintendo has him on a leash and they took him from doing what he does best and put him in a position that he is doing the best he can.

P.S- Reggie and Nintendo have turned 3DS around that has to count for something. Face it no matter who was in charge of Nintendo Of America the 3DS couldn't have done much better then it did. Reggie wasn't responsible for the lack of software, he wasn't responsible for the high price. He did the best he could with what he was given and he didn't do a horrible job. In fact 3DS wasn't a huge failure it was selling alright sure no DS but it was doing fairly good considering its high price point and lack of software.

Reggie needs more authority over Nintendo's operations. He needs to be able to speak freely rather then scripted statements from Iwata. he needs to bring marketing back internal and oversee it personally and finally he needs a few studios he himself is in control of. Retro doesn't even take orders from NOA they take their orders from Japan.

If Reggie is to be effective he needs authority and freedom to actually make some decisions free of Iwata. They hired a marketing genius and then they put him on a leash and restricted his ability to actually do his job!

Its easy to make the game "compatible". But for ps3 and 360 a kinect/move  "compatible" game falls on deaf ears when you have a gamepad at your disposal.

Talking purely games based around the kinect and Move, Kinect has some well known names like I said, Move has next to nothing.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

??? im just gonna get right to it, Reggie aint crap, he is a glorified hype man. He turned the 3DS around??? Really, he had something to do with the price drop? Cause im sure that decision was made in Japan. Reggie is on a leash??? Wha??? If he was on a leash, then we would have Xenoblade and Last Story. He doesnt need more power, if anything they need to tighten the reins on his mouth, because nothing but BS has been coming out.  I seriously doubt he is speaking for Iwata or anyone else.  Matter of fact just disolve all on NOA, just have one huge Ninty company its not like they do crap anyway
