Well I haven't made it well-known, but I have to admit this  list I've posted here has its flaws.  Mostly because I do mine as collectives to fit more in my list.  For instance, I adore games like the Megaman X collection becuase it has four games I absolutely adore in it (megaman X1, 2, 3, and 4, even liked 6) as well as stuff like the SNES cartrige "Super Mario All-Stars + Super Marioworld" which has two of my all time faves as well as two more classics and a great hidden gem.

For anyone interested, here's my current, up-to-date list of my top games (including the surprisingly awesome Skyrim)

You can't make multiple games hold a single position!

yes I most certainly can, this is my own personal top list, not the one I did for a site.  I can do it however I bloody well feel.

Final Fantasy

1. Final Fantasy VII
2. Final Fantasy X
3. Final Fantasy IX
4. Final Fantasy VI
5. Final Fantasy IV
6. Final Fantasy VIII
7. Final Fantasy XII
8. Final Fantasy X-2
9. Final Fantasy XIII
10. Final Fantasy
11. Final Fantasy V

aaaaha!  yet another hilarious example where even Final Fantasy X-2, that joke of a game (that I liked a lot) outranked XIII.

7. Xenoblade Chronicles - Wii (New):

Even when up again Zelda: Skyward Sword, this is my GOTY 2011.  This is easily the greatest RPG of recent years, even of the 21th Century; only two RPG are higher than Xenoblade Chronicles on my list and they are two classics.  This game has a superb soundtrack (Mechanical Rhythm and Gaur Plain [day] are my favourites), an epic length (Dragon Quest/Warrior VII is the only RPG I've played with a longer story) and one of the most refreshing battle systems I've experienced.  If you have a Wii, you need to get this game.  If you don't have a Wii, it's honestly worth buying one for.

4. Chrono Trigger DS - DS (4 last year):

For some reason, Europe never got Chrono Trigger on either the SNES or the PSX, so this was the first time it released here.  Having played it in early 2009, I saw what all the fuss was about and how truly ahead of it's time this game was when it first released.  While I felt the DS additions were not up the quality of the rest of the game, this is the only version of the game I have played and therefore it is the DS port which is on my list/

2. Final Fantasy VI - SNES (2 last year):

After all these years, I still don't think an RPG has surpassed this game.  I think this has one of the best soundtracks, the best story, some of the best party members, the best villian, etc of any game around.  Everyone who likes RPGs, needs to play this game.

Here's my full list as well: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4314392

What do you think?

I hear great things about FFVI, so I'm working on it now, but I wish I started earlier. The graphics are starting to get old, at least as a GBA remake it would have fit right in. Still rom what I played so far, it's the best Final Fantasy I have played.

Chrono Trigger is my number 2 or 3 as well (it's on par with Mass Effect 2), and well it's the best JRPG ever IMO.

XenoBlade.....HOLY FU**! Can't wait, as soon as Gamestop announces it will be takin retail pre-orders in Canada, I am pre-ordering it.

Also... I'll allow you guys to ask me about how games in a single franchise (Pokemon, Metal Gear Solid, Mario, Halo, etc.) stacked up against each other! It's the least you guys deserve for participating.

I am really interested to see how RPG's in general stacked up. What JRPG games got more votes then XenoBlade in the end, how did Chrono Trigger, Mass Effect 2, and Lost Odyssey fair?

Also how did Mario Karts stack up in the end? Which is the most favored Mario Kart.

Also, how are you going to tally this? Do positions give different weights, or does the game making the list just give it a vote?

4. Metroid/Zero Mission
5. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
6. Metroid Fusion
7. Metroid: Other M

Zelda:

1. Ocarina of Time
2. A Link to the Past
3. Twilight Princess
4. Wind Waker
5. Majora's Mask
6. The Legend of Zelda
7. Link's Awakening
8. Phantom Hourglass
9. Oracle of Ages/Seasons
10. Spirit Tracks
11. The Adventure of Link
12. Minish Cap

Metroid Fusion deserves more love, and so does Majora's mask, but otherwise great order.

I'm at work right now... But I remember right, here's how the combined Mario games went:

1. Super Mario 64
2. Super Mario World
3. Super Mario Galaxy 2
4. Super Mario Galaxy
5. Super Mario Bros. 3
6. New Super Bros. Wii
7. Super Mario Bros.
8. New Super Mario Bros.
9. Super Mario Sunshine
10. Super Mario Bros. 2

-------

OH YEA!!! Best Mario game by far won, damn straight. However Galaxy's aren't bad, just they feel like more Mario 64 where Mario 64 was the first of the greats.

You'll see soon enough!

As for how I scored the games, each game got a point total equilvalent to how people placed them (#50: 50 points. #1: 1 point). Also, there's a point "penalty" if a game doesn't appear on someone else's list. For example, I put Epic Mickey at #27 (27 points under my name), but you didn't rank the game at all... so it got 75 points under your name (so 25 points more than a "last place" game). So basically, each and every game recieved 46 numerical values.

The game with the least amount of points won!

Hey Smeags,

Is it too late for me to post my list? I've been thinking hard for the past few days about what games I'd include, and I have about 45 right now. I'll have the entire list in a few days.

Thanks

Well, you can always post your list, but unfortunately I've already complied all the data and just finished writing the gamrFeed artcile. Hopefully it'll be up soon.

But now I'm curious to see your list!

Just re-compile the data and re-write the gamrFeed article accordingly. Is that too much trouble. I don't like feeling left out. : (

Come on man, do it for me. If you don't do this, I'll never forgive you.

Looks like you'll never forgive me.

Sorry, it's was a lot of work, and I'm very happy I'm done with it. There's always this upcoming year.
