Forums - Gaming Discussion - Worst games you actually paid for and tried to play

In anticipation for the top 50 best games of all times thread:

What are your worst games you bought, despite knowing better or other lack of judgement.

I'll start with my bottom 4

#4 We ski on the wii, aka family ski in Europe

I was desperately looking for something else to play on the Wii balance board, this wasn't it. It did introduce the term communal crotch flaying to reviews. Luckily it didn't deter me from trying Shaun white snowboarding which turned out to be pretty good.

#3 Silent hill homecoming

Just an allround disappointment, a distant shadow of the older games. Siren blood curse was far more interesting.

#2 Full auto 2: battlelines.

I was lucky to find a ps3 close after launch, but they hardly had any games. What was I thinking, I played it twice then stuck with ff12 on my ps3.

#1 NFS: ProStreet

3+, that's more then the score I gave it. Total lack of judgement. After finishing NFS shift I figured maybe reviews have always been overly harsh on the NFS sequels, so I took a chance on this. Luckily I bought it 2nd hand, no wonder it was so cheap.

Has anyone else bought any games they rather forget about?

since then i've never bought a bad game.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

PSOne: 007 Tomorrow Never Dies
PS2: Project Eden
PS3: FFXIII

I only bought Nintendo games for my Ninty consoles so it's all good there.

Heres my list of most dissapointing games for this generation (all these games i have bought) :

Shit i hope the embedding works :/

Alpha Protocol

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/segaeurope/4387635290/" title="Alpha Protocol - PS3 Packshot by SEGA Europe, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4020/4387635290_0d2c72175a.jpg" width="437" height="500" alt="Alpha Protocol - PS3 Packshot"></a>

A cool idea, but shoddy execution. The main issue i had with this game was that the gameplay mechanics was terribly broken. People, reviews, just about everyone warned me not to get the game, but it was going for really cheap and i thought to myself "How bad can it be?" wow. I should of listened.

Enchanted Arms

My second game i got for my PS3. i wasnt expecting much but i expected more than what i got. Also bearing in mind it was one of my first games for my new shiny PS3, suffice it to say i was underwhelmed. I learnt never to buy games randomly again after this purchase. I bought this game for full retail price.

Need For Speed: Pro Street

This came with my ps3 so i guess i didnt really go out and buy it. But i was a big fan of the NFS franchise back in the day and i always imagined what it would be like to play a next gen NFS. And then i got this piece of crap. I dont get why they didnt just make a underground 3 or a most wanted 2. I know the formula was overused, but they were stil fun games.

Fallout 3

Simply put, i came into this with the completely wrong expectations. I should have done a bit more research on how the game played, etc. The good thing though was that i bought this used

Final Fantasy 13

The biggest dissapointment of all. The game speaks for itself. Again i find myself wondering how they managed to fuck up a "next gen" final fantasy.

Intel Core i7 3770K [3.5GHz]|MSI Big Bang Z77 Mpower|Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 2 x 4GB|MSI GeForce GTX 560 ti Twin Frozr 2|OCZ Vertex 4 128GB|Corsair HX750|Cooler Master CM 690II Advanced|

I'm having a tough time getting into Rage. Played it for a few days and it's been collecting dust ever since. I should've waited until it was sub $30.

I didn't buy it myself (my mom did, I think) but Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout on NES comes to mind. It's just a horrible platformer. Bugs Bunny fights alarm clocks and soap boxes with a hammer. I actually had forgotten all about it until recently when I spotted the game on VirtualNES.com.

So there you have it, a game so bad my mind blocked it off from my memory.
