do you think they might have intentionally put the building in because it was a massive part in cod4?

Yeah this is quite sad, but as the MW story is over.
I expect them to change things in the next game as I think the series has peaked now.
However they will sell around 75 million copies between MW3, MW2 and Black Ops. So even if MW3 is the peak, it was a beast we will rarely see in gaming.
However I think the spin offs will continue with massive sales like from Halo 3 to Halo Reach. Even with 75% or 50% of MW3 sales, the games will be massive.

That means nothing. The Halo trilogy finished in Halo 3 but we have a new trilogy starting with Halo 4. With the sales the series is getting, I'm already anticipating the annoucement of Modern Warfare 5 a few years down the line. Its not hard to imagine a new storyline starting in the aftermath of the in-game war as so much happened in the decade following WW2. Activision might scrap the campaign altogether considering the lacklustre reception it got and invest more in the Spec-Ops side of the game.
I doubt they will scrap the campaign, and frankly the game has more then enough space to add in more spec ops.
Really not a big deal. It is the same building but with 10x more detail, the building from CoD4 is just grey walls and empty except for a few wooden crates piled around.
Btw, after how this finished... I expect the next CoD to be Call of Duty 5.
Well it fits with their typical generic factory-setting maps.
I loved the first CoD games but even all those years ago, one of my biggest gripes were the maps: the CoD series has some of the most boring maps i've ever seen in a shooter.
