Personally I think the list will end like this at the end of the year. For multiplatform games my scores are ordered 360/PS3/PC. OFC skyrim score could be way off since we don't even have one review score to start gaging critical opinion. 

1. Portal 95/95/95 - 95avg

2. Skyrim 95/93/95 - 94.67avg

3. Skyward Sword 94

4. Batman 95/96/90 - 93.67 avg

5. Uncharted  93

6. Rayman 90/94/94 - 92.67avg  Third score is wii instead of  PC

7. LittlebigPlanet 2 92 

8. Xenoblade Chronicles 91

9. Forza 4 91

10. Gears of War 3 91

That site very, VERY rarely gives out 10/10's, unless it's an amazing revolution (even OoT, which got 99, had 3-4 90 reviews...)

Skyward Sword could always be the same. There's plenty of sites that are looking like giving it 10/10, after all.

 

And no way Xenoblade will go down again. The average is 92.46%, so it'll need at least 4 reviews of 75% for it to drop down again. That ain't happening.

I don't doubt they're good, I just always wonder if they're actually high 90's, or if they should be just high 80's/low 90's but the extra bonus notalgia points they get are what makes them 98 type games.

For sure, if you took a Mario game and swapped the characters for some new original characters instead it would never get the high scores it gets. People whine about all the COD games being the same but how many times does Bowser kidnap Peach and you have to go save her from a castle, its even the exact same plot for Mario Land 3DS.

Exactly! Finally someone with some sense.

Mario games are fun, don't get me wrong, but they have no plot, no story, basic graphics, basic sound, mediocre replayability (you can replay it with friends, but it gets boring by yourself), no online......is that really worth a 97/98 or whatever Super Mario Galaxy 2 got?? Sure its fun but so are a lot of games that get much lower review scores because they have lame stories, bad graphics, etc.
