Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Skyrim and other latest games run good on this laptop?

Tagged games:

HP dv6 6100 series: i7 core 2630 (Quad Core), 8GB RAM, Graphics card ATI Radeon 6770 (2 GB), Blu Ray player and 750GB HDD.

What settings will I be able to play Skyrim on this lap top? Will it look much better than Skyrim on the PS3 and XBox 360?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Skyrim releases on November 11, 2011.

That's the same one that I got. It runs Crysis 2 on Ultra with the new texture pack at 30-35 FPS solid, so most likely will run Skyrim on the highest definition. Also, I tried the battlefield 3 beta on mine and it ran at High with 2x AA at 40-45 fps.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Skyrim doesn't need that much power.

skyrim should run nice on your laptop so you shouldn't have any problem.

Yea that is pretty beastly for a laptop shouldn't have any problem running any game this year, and probably be good until next gen consoles launch.

Skyrim isn't a resource hog although it should have been given how amazing it looks.

Your laptop has more than enough muscle to carry it off

I eat punks like you for breakfast!

is that really a laptop?, you got a better rig than most gamers have on their desktop , you can pretty much run everything with it,

for your info, the latest Radeon card is 6900 series, yours is just a bit older model, but the difference isn't really worth mentioning, what differenciates card models is when you compare for example 5000 to 6000 , or if you are using NVidia 400 to 500.
all the 6755(whatever) aren't much different from say 6855(whatever)

tl:dr , you won't be needing an upgrade anytime soon, infact you can run most resource hog games on max.

You'll easily max Skyrim and games like Battlefield should perform quite well on high settings.
