Hey just read a few articles on Cloud gaming and im not convinced. The following are a list of all the advantages and disadvantages i could think of for the service. Please note any more you may have though of.

Cloud Gaming: Advantage ->

1. No Need To Update Hardware "As Often" To Play On High Settings ||

2. Potentially cheaper games

DISADVANTAGES ->

1. Can't Mod Games (Think of Mods For Games Like Oblivion/GTA 4)

2. Can't Use Cheats/Trainers (If You Don't Like Cheating, Then Don't Cheat But Don't Force It On Everyone)

3. No Net Connection Means No Gaming Sessions For You

4. If Company Goes Bankrupt or Fails Miserably All Of "Your" Games Will Be Gone And You Can't Do Anything About It

5. If Cloud Gaming Company Competition Offers Better Deals, Switching To Them Will Mean Having To Pay For The Games You Already Have Paid For

6. You'll Have No Control Over Updates As They'll Be Automatically Implemented, Bad In Certain Cases (Think How Some Updates Messed Up Dead Island Game Even More)

7. If Company Experiences Technical Problems, You Can't Play

8. If Game Company Doesn't Want To Be On Cloud Gaming Company, You Won't Be Able To Play It

We lose enough ownership of our products when we buy digitally-downloaded games. Now they want us not to even have the game data on our machines?

No thanks. I'll stick to going to a store, buying something, and owning it.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

i could be interested but only if it worked well and only if someone like sony/ms/nintendo did it because good content trump good delivery.

i would love to see a system with hourly pay with prepaid cards or something like that.. paying for the hours you play.. some months I just don't find the time to play games...

I don't think we're ready to have something like cloud gaming take over any time soon. The cons outweigh the pros too much at this time.

Rol always reasonable? anyway its a great idea but think about the con's for a second! whats one way to insure nun of that happens?

back up data on you hard drive. save your game on cloud and hard drives then you'l have not to worry about any of the things you've listed as con's.

This. I'm not going to pay for something as if it were a product when it's a service instead, and I'm not interested in paying for this kind of services either.

I like the idea of cloud gaming, it's really interesting but still i don't think this is the way to go. Maybe you can still play games on your home consoles and also have a service of cloud gaming. I think both traditional and cloud gaming can co-exist. In my case i will stick with the traditional way mainly because my internet connection SUCKS so bad

The cons will always outweigh the pros. No matter how it's set up, cloud gaming will take control over games out of consumers' hands.

It makes me wonder why something like OnLive was shown so much interest, though.

Cheaper games will never happen. Not full-priced at least.

May as well go over to Steam.
