And look, I am also prepared to see people say that Uncharted 3 will sell 10M because it had a 100% increase first week, so my point is not about the game itself, it´s about the hype, and people getting carried away by FW numbers, and not contextualizing numbers. Gears 3 had a 1M increase over gears 2, because, it was a great game, but most importantly, it was the first BIG game, and 360 gamers were impatiently waiting for a quality game. Of course these Gears 3 numbers will be even more impressive when you consider the competition it had, but still, those predictions, and the huge bandwagon this game had when predicting sales numbers was uncalled for and the only reason for it will be the fact that sales are not made in a vacuum, there is competition, timing, price, etc, etc.. off-topic ended |

BF3 is a beast, even the partially tracked PC version leaves behind everything else!
Kinect gets a big boost in America and overkills both Move and Balance Board, out of the Top50, but it's still far behind its results last year.
Battlefield will sell for a long time as more FPS fans check it out.
However, I do not think Battlefield will become a leggy monster and get crazy sales. The reason is the recent COD games have very strong sales for months as well.
Legs of Gears 3 are quite poor. Wonder if things will pick up over the holidays are will people be more focused on later releases (MW3, BF3, Halo CEA, ACR).
That is the problem with releasing a big game in q3. Sales are going to be massive at first because of a clear release window, but then sales go to a crawling halt over the holidays.

last time i heard about this is Halo:Reach

well Halo Reach legs are really good for an XBOX game and have been much better than Gears of War.
I think Halo brand is more mainstream so the game would be bought by mainstream gamers latter on.
I do not think the same will happen for Gears of War 3 especially with Battlefield and MW3 coming out.
