STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct 27, 2011 (Thomson Reuters ONE via COMTEX) -- - Sony Ericsson to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony and integrated into Sony's broad platform of network-connected consumer electronics products

- The transaction also provides Sony with a broad IP cross-licensing agreement and ownership of five essential patent families

- Ericsson to receive EUR 1.05 billion cash payment

- Sony and Ericsson to create wireless connectivity initiative to drive connectivity across multiple platforms LINK

I wonder if they will make a Vita Phone now, that would be interesting.

Yea really is seeing as over the past ten years that SE has been in existance its only made 1.5 billion euro in profit. Unless Sony can really turn things around.

Hopefully now that its 100% Sony they will inest more into and hopefully make a flagship phone like the galaxy.

This is probably the best move Sony will make this decade. Now they can fully integrate home, and mobile devices, something they would never have done with the SE partenership. This is a move that will allow them to not fall buy the wayside, as companies like Samsung, Microsoft, and Apple already have a much better integration of platforms. Without this move they would have lost momentum in many sectors. Integartion of hardware and services will only become more and more important in years to come. 

In my opinion this puts Sony back in the chase.

Yup, saying its a "waist" of money seems like "bosom" talk.
