Forums - Gaming Discussion - Interesting Take on the Team Bondi Controversy outbreak

As most of you may know that Team Bondi had a bit of troubles, those issues soon hit the web not long after their first title LA. Noire hit the store shelves. Well the person who started what has been the biggest media storm of the year for gamingm Andrew McMillen, recently did a interesting speech in Brisbane Australia at the Emerging Writers Festival giving clear warning to speech listeners about breaking news on the internet using the Team Bondi/Rockstar situation as a point of reference.

Its a very good listen and isn't that long and brings up many points such as IGN reducing his oringal piece to handful of quotes and rushed summaries written by other journalists, and other journalists using what was still "rumours" from annoymous sources on his second article on GamesIndustry.biz as nothing but fact. That quote being the one about how Rockstar will never publish another Team Bondi game again and that Team Bondi were looking for other publishers. While that fact ended up being true and Team Bondi has recently closed, at the time nothing was finalized and that it was all still rumours.

I am sure someone will pick up the rights to this companies games. Just like someone picked up Acclaim, and even infocom back in the day!

Well yeah. That's why news blogs suck.

They're just summaries of other articles they don't even properly link to half the time.
