Forums - General Discussion - The Walking Dead season 2 thread **SPOILERS**

So yeah, a place to come and talk about the show. Things you liked/didn't like, speculation about the future and anything else. There will be spoilers.

I thought the premier was very good, the proper amout of violence and zombie confrontation, T-Dog even said bullshit at one point. Speaking of that guy, how did you like that gash on his arm, I cringed. Speaking of cringing, how about when they gutted that zombie in the woods......I had to look away lol. Nice ending too, way to catch people off guard and leave us hanging for next week.

There are always things to question about what people in stressful situations on shows and movies do and I understand that a lot of the stupid things are intentional. That said, a big part of watching things like this, for me at least, is thinking about what I would do in the same situation. I have a problen with the way the group handled themselves on the highway at the gridlock. I can't imagine after all they had been throuogh, that they would leave themselves so exposed and suddenly get caught that off guard. And how the hell did that huge herd of zombies go that unnoticed. Anyway, I would have suggested that only two armed scouts go scan for supplies while the rest stayed back on the lookout. And if the shit hit the fan, hit the woods.

I'll be here all season to discuss.

I loved the premiere, it was brilliant. The show has that perfect mix of zombie and people so that it's a zombie show that isn't about the zombies.

The ending of the first episode completely caught me off guard. When the boy got shot my jaw literally dropped and then when the episode ended I was blown away. Here I was, thinking the episode would end with them finding the girl and then it ends with that! I thought that deer part was going to be the sheriff finding his peace or either a zombie would eat the deer and then the sheriff would find the girl and then find peace. That was just an insane ending to the first episode.

Yeah, I thought for sure the deer would somehow play into how they found the girl. It's like, here is his sign from God, now all they need to do is find the girl in the next 2 minutes and it's a wrap...LOL.

I did not see the girl in any of the previews for the rest of the season, but I guess that was the point. Who the hell shot the deer! I missed that. Or the boy I should say. It was good, but that whole church scene went on forever. We have seen heli's a few times now in this series. I know it is the first episode back, but come on lets get going! I understand that the lady wants to go off alone and die, and whatnot, but it does not make sense for either of them to leave on their own. Plus she obviously wanted to live because she could have let the old guy jump over the barrier and she could have just stood there. Just nitpicking a little, still a wonderful show!

I agree about the chick wanting to live. I'm not buying that whole,"I didn't want your blood on my hands" shit. What blood on her hands? She'd be dead. But I could see wanting to be on your own, I don't think I'd want to be with a bunch of people that I didn't see eye to eye with. I know strength in numbers but the more people there are, the more someone could mess things up for you too.

yeah more people around the bigger the mess!

I guess those two should leave then, but not sure to what. They should just suck it up and stay.

Wonder when Mearle and the guy and his kid from episode one from last season will show back up?

Lol, Merle is gonna be a trip if he comes back, talk about more problems. I had a half-assed theory that he is a zombie but somehow(don't as how) was able to be a leader of the zombies. This would give him some added motivation to hunt down the human group. Also imaging a racist zombie, lol.

Actually, I guess all zombies are racists in favor of the zombie race.

Alrighty then, I can hear it now. The people that wanted more action in the first episode are really gonna be complaining this week. I normally prefer a high body count too (be it human or zombie body) but I'm surprised at how well the drama was executed this week. I seriously felt the weight of Rick's situation. Also his boy Shane was on point, I'm liking him more this season so far. So yeah, the gravity, imagine being so emotionally drained, and physically drained, all that blood taken, and then finding out that the "doctor" is an animal doctor, lol.

Then there is the fragmentation of the group and the T-Dog situation. Is he just sick from his wound or is it the zombie fever? How bout Shane and Otis heading to the high school for medical supplies? That was a fucked up scenario when they got there. Speaking of that, here is a complaint. They throw the flares to distract the zombies and it works. Then they come blasting out of the trailer like a couple of drunk buddies leaving a bowling alley. Seriously, WTF is that? No distraction flares for the return trip out of the trailer??? Really??? But it was cool anyway to see them boys pinned down behind that gate with a seriously pissed horde clawing for their asses.

All in all, another excellent episode that sets up a few really interesting story lines. Same shit as last season, I can't wait to see next week's show.

Do you mean more episodes than last season? If so, I think yes. I remember reading somewhere that there will be 13 episodes in season 2.

I thought E1 was great, the church scenes made me groan a little, but overall it was very compelling and well-written, the boy being shot at the end was a huge surprise to me, hopefully it will continue to have those surprises throughout the whole season.

Shoot this was the thread. I replied to two of them last night. It was boring, but it was still good! The end was interesting, but why would they not think of an escape plan? More flares maybe? Come on! I would like them to finally get out of there and make there way to Bragg or bennning where ever they are going. Will there be more epdisodes this season?

Boring? How dare you. I thought it was really exciting, had a good blend of tense action and the slower narrative based moments (if that makes sense). It's kinda funny how everyone's forgotten that they still haven't found the little girl xD
