Christmas vacation, 1993.. I got a ton of money for birthday / Christmas, plus some "Jeffrey" dollars at Toys R Us because I returned some presents there that I didn't want or already had.

I had exactly $250 cold hard cash (and TRU money)... went straight to the videogame aisle, and was oh so close to dropping it all on the newly released Atari Jaguar, having recently seen the old "Do The Math" commercials on TV and wanting to be the first kid on my block to own (what I thought was) the most powerful gaming system currently on the market.

Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed as I saw the actual game library, which was pretty crappy to say the least, and nothing really interested me... so I went back down the aisle and picked out a bunch of games for my SNES instead, which where as follows...

-Super Mario All Stars
-Super Empire Strikes Back
-Aladdin
-NHL '94
-Super Adventure Island

How's THAT for an epic lineup of games! So yeah, as you can clearly see I was (and still am) very happy with my decision lol.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

No More Heroes, for a long time i kept hearing about this "amazing" game for Wii. Other games i wanted kept getting in the way so i never got around to getting it. PS3 version was announced, so i said WTH might as well wait for the version with extra stuff and get the sequel on Wii. Finally played it(PSN demo version) and man im I glad I never got the game. It is not good. You run down corridors beating up boring enemies with boring gameplay. The bosses look interesting, but there not all that either. I cant figure out how people gave this game high scores. Did they drop their standards because its on Wii and they didnt expect much, or was it pity points??

Crysis2, was going to get day one, but decided to get KZ3 instead. Glad I did. Crysis2 is a good game, but not 9,0 good. Too many glitches for that. Are people just throwing high scores at games for the hell of it?? Sure the graphics are good, but that means nothing when the character design is bland and the enemies get stuck it place. KZ3 has great graphics and nary a glitch in sight

I agree with you on No More Heroes.

I think we should not let fanboys review games. THey did the same crap with Conduit. That game was getting early praise but was meh at best. There were better FPSs released on GC for God's sake

I spent about that much 2-3 years later ... and have 40 Jag games plus CD unit and several of those titles. But you made a very wise choice in 1993.

This is not a voting thread (you all know how great I am at those types of threads!), but just an opportunity for you all to give a shout out to a  game that was not good. The one game that you give a little prayer to God about every night thanking him that no one gave it to you for Christmas.

My games are Veggy World Wii, and Quest 64. Even though Veggy World looks fun from the video, you should not trust what you cannot play. As for Quest 64, I do not care if you were dying for an RPG back then on your beloved 64. You should avaid this like the Mimivirus! Unless you like mediocricy then by all means these games that look decent on the outside are the ones that you want to pick up. Games that are bad and look bad are not the problems here. Games that look good, but are bad are a different story! You all understand the dissapointment of playing a game that looks like it will be awesome then the finished product is not what you thought.

Veggie World Wii ... now there is a title you don't see mentioned every day! I'd be happy to take it off of your hands. 8*>

Family Party 30 Great Games -- so bad I took it back (resold it). And if you know me, that is saying something.

Red Dead Redemption. Played it at my cousins because he said it was a must have, and even offered to buy it for me. I don't remember how many times i told him no.

Xenoblade.

Care to evaluate as to why?

While I personally enjoyed Xenonlade. I can understand why some people may have a problem with it.

- After level 40ish you never get anymore abilities

- Maps are wayyy to big. This would be alright if their was actual content to sustain the maps.

- Sidequests are the same. Kill X, Collect X

- Battle System never really requires thinking or strategy (does on occassion)

- Sidequests over level your character making the game dull

- Too many monster pallet swaps

Some of the reasons I could think of that someone may not like the game. As I said great game and I really like it but it has quite a few problems. Then again, what game doesn't nowadays?

Very true

What did you think of Shadow of the colossus on the PS2?
