Sidney Crosby is no longer wearing a red helmet and has been cleared for contact. Hopefully he walks down my street soon.

Nah,  I just want to punch him in the face.  I'm sure that he can take it since he's a hockey player.

I still think you should pull a Tonya Harding on him... it would be priceless to see Cindy bawlin his eyes out on the floor screaming "WHY ME?!?  WHY NOW?!?  WHYYYY... WHYYYY.. WHYYYYYYYYYYYY????!!!!"

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Hah! I sure wish I could actually watch some games. Being so caught up with studying and work, I'd completely forgotten the season started. However, I have just one thing to say... GO AVALANCHE!

I've been very lucky with "Home" teams this year. In football both the Lions and Bills are showing immense improvements over last year, while on the ice the Sabres, Leafs and Red Wings are putting on spectacular performances early on in the season. In the case of the Leafs it doesn't mean much (anyone remember last year? ) but I'm glad to have some places close to home to cheer for.

Toronto vs Colorado tonight should be a treat.

Go Bills! Boo Detriot! :P XD

The Red Wings have managed to win all four of their games and most of them against the northwest division, they seem like a team that always is good. I am a little surprised since they have not added many good players recently and have lost a lot of their veterans. I don't even want to think about starting out good then falling as the avs did the same last year. Did Toronto add many players or is it the same team.

Colorado Vs Detriot will be an early test for both clubs to see if they are ready to stand with the elite. Other than last game Colorado has had graet goaltending and the defense is bigger and tougher then last year. The avs have started scoring a lot too with it being spread greatly throughout the roster. This is a good sign as scoring should never be left up to one or two players or just the top two lines. I cannot comment on Toronto, but as the are undefeated they make me a little nervous as my team faces them.

Colorado have beaten three Eastern teams in a row :), hoping they make it the forth tonight.

Yeah, Detroit really is a surprise for me this year. Don't get me wrong, they have good players. But they don't have any giant headline players (unless you count Nick Lidstrom) and haven't made any big splashes in acquisitions and what not. I figured they'd still be good this season but I didn't expect them to be a front runner in the conference (it's still early in the season so things might not stay this way). However, they surprise me with their consistently solid play thus far and I'm glad they have.

As for Toronto, they've had some pretty decent talent for a year or two now but they've needed to do a lot of tuning and line-shuffling to finally build some chemistry. The fruits of all this effort started to show up in the second half of last season where they really started to come around. Their biggest issues were the penalty kill, power-play and keeping late 3rd period leads. They seem to have patched these areas up fairly well so far this season and the results speak for themselves. They picked up a few new guys. I can't remember his name but this one new guy - I think it's Speckel/Steckel - has done wonders on face-offs and blocking shots. If he keeps up this type of play we'll definitely hear a lot more about him as the season goes on.

PHil Kessel at 24 years of age seems to be hitting his prime now as he scores tonight to league in both points and goals. This is especially impressive considering he has done this in four games while many other teams have already played 5 or 6 games. The man is going wild early in the season. Cool to see he kept the scoring streak up tonight.

Torontos old Goalie comes back to play Toronto and he really wanted to beat your team. Apparently he offered quite a bit of money to the Avalanche players to keep if the one for him tonight. It was some kind of hostoric win for Jean S Giguere moving him up the list for most wins by a goalie. Did Giguere have troubles playing for Toronto?

Anyways both of our teams take points tonight.     The avs now temporarily have the most points in the leauge.

Here's hoping this is the season the Blues get back to their winning ways. Start of a new playoff streak? Please?
