Forums - Website Topics - Is there a reason why Vgchartz is unusually slow as of late?

For the most part, the site has been running smoothly this evening for me.

Well congratulations to you! What does those numbers at the end of your profile name stand for?

It should be pretty obvious, eh? :P

How many video games you own?

Considering my age, it should be pretty obvious :P

I did come across something relatively easy to do that will essentially lock up portions of the site for a couple of minutes. Sent the info to Brett so he can think about possible fixes. Will not post details here as it could be used as a DOS attack...

Good find! I hope that gets fixed.

I just hope he doesn't take the Sony route to info like that

New hardware is probably a month away, but just wondering how has things been (better, worse, no change, too soon to say) the last 5 days compared to the previous month? PS: Monday and Tuesday had highs this month for the number of users logged in.

The site has been getting more active, and the site has started running just fine. Just in time!

Yeah, the site has been pretty stable for the past 2-3 days so far.

Its working ok at present, but just a few minutes ago it was bad. Very bad.

Definitely the site has been pretty slow for the past couple of months. 503 errors, sql errors, even 404 errors. Today it's taking me between 10-15 seconds for each page to load.

I heard one guy even got the Red Ring of Death!

Damn, I guess that BSOD a couple of minutes ago wasn't an accident...curse you VGC!!! *shakes fist*

When you were naming off all those errors it almost sounded like you had a long list of area codes.

pretty darn slow for me anyway. :(
