"IGN RATINGS FOR RAGE (PS3)

RatingDescription
out of 10 Click here for ratings guide
7.5 Presentation
Incredibly high production values throughout. Storyline is weak, few memorable personalities, no satisfying ending, game starts to drag toward the end.
10 Graphics
One of the best looking games ever made.
8.5 Sound
Great gun sound effects and a high quality soundtrack and voice acting.
9.0 Gameplay
Excellent shooting sequences and a surprisingly good car combat mode.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
A lot of content in the single-player mode, plus co-op missions and a vehicle combat competitive multiplayer mode.
8.5

Well that's not as promising as I thought it would be...Still going to get it though! Looks like it could end up being like Borderlands (which was awesome!)

I thought that Rage had a review embargo until tonight at 12.01 though?

One review source (IGN) was given permission to release early. My review is up on gamrReview now http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/review/25458/rage/

Sweet thanks!

And now I am off to go pick up my pre-order of the game!

Strategy Informer - 6.5/10

From Boutros' strategyinformer link:

At the end of the day, Rage is going to sell by the bucketload due to its remarkable lineage, and there will be armies of fans who will defend it to the bitter end, no matter whether they enjoyed it or not. But for those who will listen: Rage is flawed from the get-go, and by the time it finds its legs, its all too little, too late.

Game critics usually get this defensive after the backlash. Makes me wonder.

Strategy Informer is full of bull

Nice score.

seems like ign glossed over a lot a faults in this game that eurogamer wasnt so kind to.
like having to manually save, and a lot of the graphical deficiencies/faults.

"the technology isn't perfect, mind you. There's a noticeable degree of pop-in as you sprint into new locations, alleviated somewhat by installing to your hard disk but disruptive all the same. This isn't a hugely interactive world either - perhaps the price you pay for so much fidelity - and so that in-jokey photo frame of creative director Tim Willits you found on a desk in Dead City isn't going to fall to the ground when you whack it with the butt of your rifle.

The knee-high piles of rubble at the extremities of your path are often invisible walls and rarely obstacles to be vaulted in search of a bonus, too, but then Rage has plenty of other secrets. There are shrines to old id Software games to uncover, collectable bobble-heads and even a trio of goalposts through which to propel your avatar by crashing your buggy and flying through the windscreen."

also unlike the very informitve review on gamereview, ign makes no mention on the difference in qualtiy when you install it on xbox compared to when you dont, gamereview made it seems like its VERY VERY beneficial to instal, ign needs t inform readers more

eurogamer is not kind to those true American games like Rage, Fallout 3
