RAGE, the new game from Id Software (makers of Doom and Quake), is coming out in a few days...anyway, and it´s just my impression, it doesn´t seem like many gamers are interested in the game.
Dark Souls comes out on the same day, I think...a few days later, Batman Arkham City... then a few days later Uncharted 3 and Skyrim...I wonder if Rage will be heavily overshadowed by those games.
As long as it doesn't get in the way of Dark Souls sales then I don't care lol
Really though I think it'll do fine, if not I'm sure it'll get praise by reviewers or so it seems.
No, it will not be a flop. John Carmack doesn't do flops. RAGE doubting should not be tolerated in this site.

Why would Dark Souls happen to "heavily overshadow" a game by iD, which is noted for its graphics and has blown away people who played with it? How much do you believe, in the end, Borderlands will outsell Rage? If you do believe this is so, then do you also believe that Dark Souls will outsell Borderlands?
It is important to not confuse games that get a buzz on here, from a title that will sell large numbers out in the real world.

It'll be lucky to sell 1 million across PS3 and 360. I'm not counting PC sales.
Way too many games coming out october and november.
No way there is a substantial shooter and open world crowd that will love this game and their friends will see it and want to play it. The lack of vocal shooter fans on this site does not represent the average gamer. Like Borderlands it will be a hit and probably bigger.
well, I think it'll definitely outsell darksoul's. It's a shooter by iD and John Carmack.
But that doesn't mean it won't flop. It depends on what "flop" status is for Rage.
Unless it gets blasted by bad review scores on a Duke Nukem Forever scale there is nothing that will stop RAGE from selling rather well ... easily over 1 mil by end of year.
Dark Souls will likely sell much better than Demon for being a sequel, multiplatform, and for receiving more advertising (Gamestop has posters up for it, and early preorders were collectors edition upgrade, and it seemed to get more attention from game websites / fan promotion).
I dont think it will flop. The games you listed are from different genres.
