Forums - Gaming Discussion - Look how far the graphics for the HD consoles have come this gen.

I recently played some Resistance: FOM and was astonished at how huge the difference is between older games and newer ones.

For comparison here's some screenshots from the best looking games each year for both the 360 and PS3.

2005:

2006:

2007:

2008:

2009:

2010:

So far in 2011:

As you can see each year has had huge improvements over the last! And we are not even finished yet! Games like UC3, ME3, Battlefield 3 and Skyrim are all shaping up to be absolutely gorgeous games.

Feel free to post any pictures of games you want.

Yeah they keep getting better. My favorite one's are MGS4, Cod4, Lost Odyessy, and Killzone 2. Its sucks though i haven't played a single game from 2011.

I don't care if I play Gears 3's SP 10 times, I'll still be floored by Kameo's artistic design (and hordes of orcs in that one area). I think that speaks volumes about this gen's detour to grey shooters (I still like grey shooters for the post-apoc feel they have).

Lol yeah Kameo is actually the only game with lots of color. Didn't notice that before.

Aren't some of these bull-shots?

And isn't that a per-rendered screen of KZ2?

Hey buddy you forgot Dark Souls

..Then again not the most visually stunning game lol

Most of 2011 are bullshots lol ...

Cool thread. Like you said, 2011 is only getting better and imagine 2012. (only Versus comes to mind )
