First market-leading console i've owned, so i have nothing to compare it to

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

8.5/10

has some of the best games out there and i think it is the console with the most games i have and thats without Mario kart and some other games i really should have bought but never had the time for

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

8/10

Pros:

- a pure stroke of genius in most senses, weren't for some cons I'll list, its possibilities would have been almost endless

Cons:

- unlike what early PR suggested, WM+ capabilities weren't included as standard from the start, this crippled their chances to be used by 3rd parties, and they were underused by 1st parties too
- too little main RAM, while exclusives can be written overcoming this limit, it made porting of big 3rd party multiplatforms very difficult or even impossible without major rewritings
- Ninty gave up too early, Wii still had the potential for some more years of healthy life, not at the level of its peak, but it could have kept on beating its competitors yearly WW by a good margin, if supported enough.

-Edit: I forgot another con, region lock. Region lock is pure shit with the sole purpose of easing prehistoric marketing policies and with no benefit at all, only disadvantages, for the users.

Positives:
1. Some of the best games this gen
2. Pissed off a lot of fanboys
3. Low failure rate
4. Virtual Console

Negatives:
1. Too many dry spells
2. Motion Plus
3. Nintendo giving up on the console
4. Third parties

7/10

I guess objectively I'd say 7/10. Fantastic sales but much worse third party support than one would expect.

For my purposes it's more like a 5/10. Bought it because the Japanese sales made me think it would get the bulk of JRPGs,, which really only taught me not to make such assumptions in the future. Gets up to a 5 because I also bought it for Mario Kart which was enjoyable for a while, and there have been a few JRPGs lately (thank god)

edit: forgot the failure with the online system, I guess that would take the objective score down to 6.5/10 for me

...

to points i'm going to make.

Wii 7 out of 10
Pro's
concept was cool
some great games

Con's
not used to full potential
catered to much to the casual
closed the door on the hardcore that brought them to the show

pulled a Sony and killed the market leader before its time with dry spells  and weak support although they had different reasons(yes i'm talking about the PS2)

Wii hacked (no not by me) 9.7 out of 10
Pro's
ever game you could thing of and you don't even have to pay for it
no longer region locked?

Con's
piracy

9/10
+Great unique games
+Okami
+Piracy
-sucky third party support
-Developers didn't try very hard to push it actually.

8.5/10

+ it bring 2d Mario back with New Super Mario Bros.

+ Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are pieces of videogame art (my opinion).

+ Can be played by everyone from little babys to grandmothers.

+ Motion controls are a fun way to play videogames.

+ ¨Hardcore Gamer¨ Trolling machine

+ Virtual Console

- Not enough third party support
- game slumps
