Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gaming headset advice (xbox 360)

Hello, I've been thinking about buying a gaming headset since I play on my living room. Sometimes the noise bothers other people, or I can't hear the game because of the noise in my house. I'm interested on the Sharkoon x-tatic sx, the turtle beaches XL1, or the X12s.

What headset do you own? Would you recommend it?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Around the Network

I got the Turtle Beach PX21 headset. It works with the PS3, the 360, and if I used a PC, it would work with that, too. When I use it on my TV's USB port, there's a very low but noticeable hum sound. On my PS3's USB, it works flawlessly but on my 360's USB, even when the console is turned off, the headset remains powered.

Sound quality is stereo (I recommend getting surround sound--that's what I planned on getting) but crystal clear and amazing as long as I don't use my TV's USB (interference, maybe?). The bass is powerful and it has different volume controls for voice chat and game audio. People sitting near can still hear the audio from the headphones but it's still pretty quiet.

It's awesome for war games (Gears, Call of Duty) because you can hear your enemies sneaking up behind you or tell if they're coming from the left or right, easily. It's very immersing. They cost me $79 at Wal-Mart and they do have a long cord (go wireless if you can afford it) but I'm very satisfied with them. Online conversations are crystal clear and game audio is superb. Check 'em out if you're interested.

Get the Turtle Beach X11's. They're cheap, comfortable, and they work really good. You can even "sound-whore" people in games like CoD and Halo. Most people waste $100+ on gaming headsets when the $50 X11 can get the job done perfectly.

Thanks for your input guys. I've been doing some "research" and the X12s seem to be superior to my other choices. They are $60 at Gamestop, but I have a couple hdmi cables lying around, and they are offering a 50% trade in bonus all next week, so they will come out quite cheap.
