I would say Sony paid for this, but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't, EA seem to dislike Microsoft (probably due to them being in bed with activision)

Doesn't battlefield sell better on 360? lol

Yes it does and it appears EA is trying to slowly change that lol...good luck to them

A whole week is a monstrous wait though...

More people are buying this game on 360 regardless of what EA rewards PS3 players...shouldn't they give timed exclusives to the 360 then??

because ea has always favoured sony? and they hate activision and since activision and microsoft are always making deals they would do the same with sony and there wont be that much of a difference only 1m difference lt and the commercials will  most likely show the ps3 version with a ps3 battlefield 3 bundle so in the end there wont be much of a difference LT sales.

plus in the end if you have 2 console's obviously the ps3 version has to be the way to go

1 disk

battlefield 1943

1 week exclusive dlc

sony will obviously have the better battlefield like how microsoft will have the better cod that's how it's going to end up being.

it's one of the sad things this gen how console's will fight to have the surperior products of multiplats.

BF3 on the PS3 needs to be 1000x better than on the 360 for me to play a FPS with that cr@%* DualShock 3. Plus, I almost all my PS3 list's friends only play SF4 and Mortal Kombat, or some weard japanease/anime game.

i don't know where your getting this from but ps3's controller is surperior to xbox's well to me it is im struggling playing reach with the xbox controller

plus.

http://beefjack.com/news/battlefield-3-platform-comparison-ps3-vs-xbox-360-vs-pc/

this article shows that battlefield 3 is the surperior console version (graphically) so battlefield is basically cod to the xbox

cod on the xbox = graphically surperior, timed dlc, exclusive content

and battlefield 3 on ps3 = graphically surperior, 1 disk, timed dlc, exclusive content

i have both console's but if you picked battlefield 3 on xbox over ps3 you would need a pretty good reason because it's obviously surperior on ps3 just like cod is surperior on xbox. that's why i might be getting cod on xbox (all my friends play it on ps3) and battlefield 3 on ps3

Really it just depends on what controller you are used to because I know the PS3 controller is complete garbage IMO. It's so bad that it takes away from shooter games when I try to play them on it.  But that's because i'm used to the 360 controller.

Sony are pretty close to ea so I am not surprised by this move

Some of you hear are taking it personally.   It's not personal, and I doubt Sony paid any cash.

Rarely does Sony actually pay for bonuses like this.

Instead, Sony typically will employ other "back end" incentives such as charging lower royalty rates for a period of time. So in this way it makes sense that EA would want to push a bit harder on the platform that nets them the most profit per unit sale.
Afterall, this is why Call Of Duty games are pushed harder on XBOX 360 vs the other consoles and PC versions....Activision makes more money per 360 copy sold.

Also what alot of people seem to forget, is Sony has 3 platform's that it can leverage in this way. This is especially important to a publisher like EA who make their games on multiple platforms spanning multiple generations (PS2 + PSP, and soon to be VITA).
Ergo: EA makes more money with Sony than with Microsoft.

Like I said, it's rare that Sony actually pays cash for extra content incentives like this.
