personally I see the PS3 giving the 360 a good thrashing this year (as you can see in my sig predictions). Mainly because of the big guns MGS4, KZ2, GT5 and possible FFXIII in Japan. But also because I think the 360 sales are going to start to dry up.

The 360 just doesn't appeal to enough people, mainly just FPS fans. Even though it has more variety in its library than the original xbox, its image as a FPS only console hasn't changed much.

The PS3 has more brand loyalty (in Europe and Japan at least), it also has more variety in its library. I also expect a price cut to $300 in the autumn/winter. I still think price is the only/main reason that PS3 sales have been sluggish up to this point, (not including the christmas boost).

Yeah, while Microsofts lineup gave it an edge this past year, Sonys lineup will do the same this year. From the sounds of it both systems will be getting another price drop, although, I think Microsofts will come to counter an increase in PS3 sales from its games, Sonys will come in late 08' to push it over the top next Christmas, which will ultimatly decide 2008

I think PS3 will even come close to matching the 360 in America, but assuming not, the 360 lead in America will not be enough to make up the difference of what PS3 will do over 360 in Japan and others...

PS3. It will start selling insanely around may/june. Xbox needs a price drop and some killer games to compete. The price drop can be realized, but I don't see enough games for now.

I think PS3 has more to get the casual gamers excited in 08 as well. Little Big Planet, Singstar, Buzz and Home could get the casuals interested if advertised right. Does the 360 have anything for the casuals... apart from Scene it!

PS3, have you seen the sales as of late, and as of today?

 There is a way bigger chance of a xbox price cut than a PS3 price cut. Microsoft is already making money on consoles sold and Sony is still losing money on each console. This year Sony is trying to become profitable so another cut is not likely any time soon.
