Forums - Sales Discussion - Now that Monster Hunter is 3DS exclusive....

Is there any point to Vita's existence? Really, someone answer me this honestly. Let's analyze:

Vita, and unfortunately 3DS, have suffered from ipad and iphone domination in the US and EU, but they still have a shot in Japan, so let's look at Japanese centric million selling franchises that people can look forward to on each platform shall we?

3DS

- Mario Kart - awesome new iteration, looks superb

- Mario - It's Mario, 'nuff said

- Monster Hunter 3G - It's MH. On 3DS. Exclusive. 'Nuff said.

- Monster Hunter 4 - See Monster Hunter 3G

- Pokemon - First pokemon in 3D with augmented reality, will sell a couple of trillion units

- Professor Layton - new iterations all 3DS exclusive

- Inazuma Eleven - see Professor Layton

- Dragon Quest - whether it's joker or xi, it'll be exclusive

- KH3D - brand new kh adventure on the 3DS

- FF - spin off or, most likely, FFVIIR. Will sell 700 million units.

- MGS3DS - Yes it looks horrible, but it's there, and it's the only place you can play it in 3D

- Resident Evil Revelations - Yep, a proper RE on portables, looks pretty awesome if I may say so myself

- Nintendogs+Cats - not as big as it used to be, but it still is a long burner

- Brain Training - just imagine for a second the types of puzzles they can make in 3D

- Animal Crossing - this will be awesome, and if you say otherwise you're wrong

- Fire Emblem - an appetizer for Adventure Wars

- Luigi's Mansion - this will keep the ball rolling

- Other Nintendo franchises

PSV

- FFX - port of a 10 year old game, also playable, and looking better on PS3

- MGS2/3 - see FFX

- Hot Shots - this franchise has lost steam, not a system seller anymore

- Gran Turismo - franchise has also lost steam, sold 200k on PSP in Japan

- Tales of Innocence R - this franchise sells better on consoles

- SCEJ games - good games, not system sellers

So, I ask again, is there any point to PSV? Should Sony cut their losses and focus on PS3 and PS4?

Seriously, Mugen take it away, if you are around.

*Yawn*
Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was someone relevant writing.

Lol. Man I needed a good laugh. I guess the original Ocarina of time came out yesterday rather then 13 years ago.

I also suppose Vita has been out for 7 months with no games....oh wait

Oh come on. I prefer 3DS to PSV and I see this thread as bullocks. There's a ton of stuff of quality caliber on PSV, or else at least of as much quality as most of what you've listed.

Seriously?

Essentially you can use those arguments for every nintendo platform.
Monster Hunter is only really big in Japan. But really really big.

And you didn't even list Starfox an Ocarina... which is pretty much the biggest reasons to currently by a 3DS. And currently would be my only reason to buy one.

A lot of the other crap is just speculation.
And the vita hasn't been out 7 months with no games. When vita gets that far... then you can start the comparison.

Furi Kuri?

Yeah...Vita is suffering so much in the U.S. I bet it hasn't even sold a single unit yet.

Don't know if you live in the US, but over here it's all about the iPad and the iPhone. Android gets a mention here and there as well. Dedicated portable machines are dead here.

The 3DS had a rough start, but Nintendo fixed ALL the troubles it had and went for the jugular this E3. They dreamcasted the PSVita, Vita doesn't even have the second analog or R2/L2 advantages anymore. Face it, Vita is better off dead.
