Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sadness delayed into 2009

The following website has a pretty good timeline for Sadness.  What I find kind of strange is that Nibris isn't a Nintendo Licensee so it's extremely unlikely that they have Wii development kits.  I also seem to remember having arguments about Nibris in which I said they were full of sh** and that Sadness will never be released, I still stand by those statements.

I would stand by those statements as well.

even if it does now, way too much delay and it wont live up it I feel. If it does come out if 2009 then the quality of Wii games will be far greater than this.

Those people that think they're perfect give a bad reputation to us who are...

"With the DS, it's fair to say that Nintendo stepped out of the technical race and went for a feature differentiation with the touch screen, but I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick - so the long-lasting appeal of the platform is at peril as a direct result of that." - Phil Harrison, Sony

Sadly (no pun intended), Sadness is looking quite a bit like vaporware. I doubt it'll ever be released.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

What I want to know is why people even cared to start with.

All we were ever hit with was some "ideas" and wave after wave of concept art for this game, yet never anything even loosely resembling a screenshot or confirmation that Nibris was even a real company or had Wii dev status.

I don't consider this bad news because I never even considered it news to start with.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Sadness is just a freaking joke!

How on earth could a developer have dev-kits that Nintendo sends out to developers if they aren't licensed...? They couldn't publish a game because they don't have the seal of quality and otherwise stores wouldn't cary the game!

Btw, how could an unknown Polish (?) developer called Nibris create an AAA-game whilst having published nothing else but crap...? I frankly don't even know 1 game that was developer by Nibris, maybe they even didn't...

Sadness = varporware and Nintendo has stated that there ain't no game called Sadness coming to Wii...

It was just a big joke!... Pathetic really!

THE NETHERLANDS

To bad ... the trailer was cool :(

Nibris has yet to develop a full game, though they have released gameplay trailers for at least one game. Their other announced projects apparently include ROTR (Raid Over the River), with different Wii and DS versions announced, and the hilariously-named "Double Bloob" for DS.

Oh, and don't think your attempt to pull out any bad Nintendo news imaginable has gone unnoticed, Legend. You'll grasp at any straws possible, won't you?

Nibris has a hacked DS which they're running DS code on. I've seen videos of it. However, it gives me no reason to assume that they have any kind of dev status with Nintendo.

Before the delay of a game can be bad news, there has to be a game to delay or evidence of an actual developer developing said game to delay. So far, I've seen neither.
