Forums - Sony Discussion - Fallout 3 Exe. Prod. says games "not even close" to using ps3's power.

That's cool. I wonder if it will ever though. I bet every console could have been pushed a little harder. Maybe.

This is why I say crysis can run on consoles.

PS3 and Xbox360 don't even reach the Crysis' recommended requirements.

PS3 probably does have a lot of potential, wether or not it gets the chance to meet that potential in the future is down to the success of the console.

Good to see this site is still going

I don't care how much power Fallout 3 uses... Just don't mess up the franchise, you bastard. I really don't trust Bethesda's ability to remain true to the Fallout name... They're not exactly known for their acerbic wit.

I'm sure the gameplay will be great but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Fallout 3 turns out to be a soulless shell of the former games.

I don't know. If I go back to Bethesda's idea on what Daggerfall (Elder 2) was, Oblivion hits pretty close to that.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

But neither are anything like Fallout... The Fallout series is as much about getting yourself into stupid (and humorous) situations as it is about kickin' ass.

I doubt Bethesda's ability to balance the two. Even one of their producers admitted to the overall lack of humor within the company. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement for a company that just picked up the Fallout franchise.

I'm not doubting Bethesda's RPG-programming ability, just whether they're right for Fallout or not.

After everything that has been said about he PS3 and what actually happens, I lump all these comments into the "I'll Believe It When I See It" File.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

The only game I know that drew out the full-potential of a video game console was Zelda: Twilight Princess and the GCN. I remember reading somewhere that Nintendo exhausted the potential of the GCN with Zelda: Twilight Princess.

If any developer knows how to draw out the full-potential of any console, it would have to be the company who makes it and their second parties. Not kidding you. Take a look at most of the games on each of the consoles.

I guess what I was getting at is that they are unlike EA when it comes to "changing" games.  Hopefully they either hire or consult with the original creators.  I just noted how they tend to keep games as they were intended.  (I'm sure someone is going to find an example of something they did change wildly though... I just speak from my experience with Bethesda...)

Ah, I see what you're saying. Hopefully Bethesda does really delve into the spirit of Fallout but they're unlikely to get any help from the creators. I know there is some bad blood surrounding the Fallout franchise from the guys who created the first two games.

Compare the sony made PS3 games to the non-sony made games. Even the exclusives which were soley for PS3 dont look quite as good as Sony made ones. Of course most 3rd party games are miles away, but that is cause they were designed for the 360 then ported.

I beleive Uncharted used a third of the PS3's power, which is the highest I've heard so far.
