I don't like either. Each of them are plagued with problems.
I much preferred Oblivion. Fallout 3 felt really cramped and uncomfortable. Everything was ridiculously bleak and excessively violent. Oblivion had a more believable (Yes, despite the elves and trolls and all of that) and more enjoyable game world, IMO.
Fallout 3. Didn't play Oblivion.

your entitled to your opinion and all, but are you for real??? It was a damn nuclear war, how could it be anything BUT bleak. Was the environment supposed to look like mushroom kingdom? Do you think if there were massive nuclear strikes going on right now and our world would resemble something like that in Fallout, do you believe thats not how it would end up?? Maybe i just have to little faith in humanity
both are good games but fallout 3 is better, oblivion became a little boring after a while and fallout 3 has a better world IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a post-apocalyptic world would look a lot like Fallout. But I don't have, and have never had, any desire to live in such a world. On the other hand, I've always enjoyed fantasy - in novels, films and games - so I loved Oblivion's setting.

This is something that bothers me while I play oblivion as well.
Oblivion. I really liked the different guilds and their respective missions....thought this was noticeably absent from Fallout 3. While I liked Oblivion more, I actually consider Fallout 3 to be a better game (mainly because it has a better story).
