Amnesia, hands down.

That game terrified me. I don't even know if scared is the right word.
It was beyond being "startled" or surprised, or anything. It outright crept me out to my very core. It was never more tempting to ramp up the brightness to max settings on a game before.

I was fine with Dead Space. I mean, something would jump at me but at most - I'd be startled. If I can shoot something in the face, I tend to be less scared of it.

Silent Hill for Nintendo Wii and The Grudge for Nintendo Wii.  Played at night, no lights.  (I needed my mate with me in the room to complete) ~She screamed louder than I did.~  >_<

i don't know about being scared but i like atmospheric games in the horror/chiller style and games where its actually a fair fight because of your weapon/life you can die in a fight with a monster like silent hill

they've all been said condemned was good i thought, siren blood curse & dead space had a good atmosphere too,i always play silent hill, like badgenome really with demons souls too,i haven't played the others

got a usable pc now so always on the look out for atmospheric adventure games on the Pc

Amnesia is pretty much purely atmospheric, but I noticed you said a fair fight so I guess you know it's without weaponry. That's precisely why it's terrifying, though.

You should give umm, crap. Google time.

...Which a shot. It's a free, short flash game. Oh wait, that's also not really a fair fight. Oh well, it's at http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/adventure/which/1523/ if you're interested. It's purely atmospheric, too. Scared me as well. I pretty much only say scared when something made me want to desperately stop playing the game.

Welcome to VGChartz!

I have been hearing more about that game lately. It looks interesting. I havn't played much on my PC lately. I would like to get back into PC gaming. i used to play PC games almost exclusively. There have been some good game releases on PC recently.

thanks,i'll give it a look, yes amnesia is in my line of site, its been mentioned here for a while so i know about it,i didn't know it was without weaponry though, sounds good,i do like the classic adventure style pc game with a good atmosphere it doesn't have to be all guns blazing though which they rarely are of course,it seems most  games like this are download only these days so i'm checking the net out i guess it will be steam,i really hate giving my card number to so many different companies on the net i try to stick to a couple,no decent PC outlet near me

on a fair fight,it doesn't really happen alot as you soon have a shot gun and know what you are doing but its why i like the silent hills sometimes you would just have a bit of wood and be battering away, mano a mano, haha and if there are a few you may aswell run on by

or lead pipe of course

Nothing has been scary for me, I only seemed to find PS1 games scary...No idea why.
