The news is actually good news for Skyrim fans, but look at her workplace in the photo: although it's her work, it's nice anyway to see a woman die-hard fan of Fallout.

There is a lot of women developers in game studios , i don't see how this one stands out from the rest o_o

Ah , fuck it here is a couple of women who actually make games

She made Legacy Of Kain which to is still one of most well written art form (not only games) of ALL time, oh  and .... uncharted =[... which is a shame....! >=(

^^^^^

She made Portal

oh and here is Deborah Mars , shes the lead director of Santa Monica Studios , the guys who make God Of War, Fat Princess, and a lot of Sony's games.

Now please anyone don't start showing me pictures of Jade Raymond or whatever her name, she sucks big balls, and when she left, Assassins Creed actually became a much much better game.

Now you tell me, a random half head that you don't actually know if its a woman or actually a man with long hair is as awesome as the examples above YOU ARE WORRRRRNGGGZZZZ!

Ok...

For her taste for some WRPGs that tend to be quite thick, The Elder Scrolls series has a quite standard fantasy setting (but with interesting references to the late Roman Empire), but a complex world, a complex stats system and a shitload of sidequests to get lost in, and some quite dark conspiracies too, Fallout series adds to all this a post-apocalyptic setting that usually (but there are exceptions), like the complex stats and leveling systems, attracts more male geeks than girls. I like strong women.

Edit: Oh, I answered before reading your edited posts, but I can just say nice examples, I like them and I like female gamers that go beyond just those games that once were considered suitable for girls. And I won't ditch Jade Raymond, I just needed a female dev and gamer example into stealth games!

Do you mean.... you never played with or seen a girl that plays that type of games? i find that hard to believe since most female gamer adore RPGs

(i hate the term "gamer girl" for some reason, it makes me think of those annoying hipsters)

I'm not sure where you are headed with your OP.

RPGs yes, but most that I knew were more into JRPGs, or even WRPGs, but mostly with more or less tolkienesque fantasy settings, and didn't like the large number of different combat and weapon skills you can find in Elder Scrolls, Fallout and the like, and none was into western post-apocalyptic settings. And my sister and an ex-GF of mine were almost exclusively into Mario and platform games (my sister almost preferred Burgertime and a Scooby-Doo game on our Intellivision to Mario on her GameBoy, actually). At the University, the girls I know and that I happened to see gaming or to play with in the Robotics and Bioengineering labs were mostly into Xblast, a Bomberman clone for XWindow GUIs, and into some Civilization clone. And also into a pinball game. No girl played with us males Scorch.
