Sony has just issued its NPD related statement and as usual the company did not disclose actual sales numbers, but Sony does indicate that sales picked up quite a bit after the $50 price cut in mid-August.

"Despite inventory constraints at retail during the first half of August, PS3 hardware sales were very strong the last two weeks of the month following the $50 price cut and the new inFAMOUS 2 bundle. The new PS3 price point, combined with PlayStation Move and the industry's strongest lineup of exclusive titles, including Uncharted 3 and Everybody Dance, positions us for an amazing holiday season," said Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications at SCEA.

Amazing news... the first time Sony didn't use "worldwide momentum" or "playstation family" .

PS3 done good in US this time.

there have been alot since the ps3 price drop but the one that i remember recently was the "retun of the undertracked"z"" with seece and ethomaz

that doesnt represent "a lot on the line" for either of seece or ethomaz. its nowhere near that important.

Funny thing is I didn't even say it wasn't undertracked, just that ethomaz had no proof either way. I swear some of the tripe people come up with here, embarrassing. Still I guess anything to detract from his own awful predictions.

then why did you quote him and accuse his beliefs to only being because the numbers arent where he would like them to be? just b/c he didnt have any proof doesnt mean that his belief is bias he could have his own evidence that isnt possible to present at that time

@ kowen ethomaz and others just found it hard to believe that SW and HW werent up despite the price cut and simply stated that he expected adjustments soon, i believe he would be referring to this NPD with that comment. i also did post that the comment was made in an overly dramatic manner, it wont matter to them in real life at all but in there vgc forum life it would and there relationship going forward from this will also be impacted
