Batman was just as good in my mind. I understand what you mean about action. 20 yeaars later jurrasic park is just mediocre now because all it was , was action. A one time see. But that one time was so amazing! Just like the matrix. Will never forget my first viewing. I have forgotten my first viewing of tdk, but I keep coming back to watch it.

A good example.

Second best opening behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. That movie didn't have good legs and fizzled out fast at the domestic box office but did very good overseas. I think The Avengers will do better then $381 million domestically I say between $400 and $450 million. Even The Hunger Games has better legs then Deathly Hallows Part 2 and will surpass it once this weekends domestic numbers come in. Only needs to make $5 million over the next two days to surpass it.

Django is looking good! Great choice for the actors as well.

I have said from the beginning that Hunger games will push out 400 million.

The hobbit will be lucky to push out a billion MBP.

The Hunger Games just needs to stay in the top ten for two more weeks which it should do easily and then its guranteed to make over $400 million dollars.  Only thing kinda disapointing about The Hunger Games number is that the overseas numbers should have been a bit better but I guess the book is a lot less well known outside the US.

Catching Fire should explode Overseas.

If avengers did 80 million on day 1, then it could possibly have a $400 million first week!!!!!!!

That is way to much seeing that the highest grossing domestic opening weekend belongs to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 which did $169,189,427 and its final groos was only $381,011,219.  Anything over $200 million in the first seven days of The Avengers would be a great accomplishment.

I guess so the first Twilight movie didn't do so well overseas either that being said The Hunger Games did better then it already overseas.

Not even TDK,who had extremely good weekdays, didn't come close to that mark in 7 days.
