Forums - Nintendo Discussion - (Rumor) Famitsu had a sneak peak at Nintendo 3DS peripheral (dual analog)

I have feeling this might only be for Monster Hunter, but if this is major hall, bad move by nintendo.

If this is a precursor to a redesign won't it kill current 3DS sales? OMG Nintendo what are you doing to gamers and yourselves?

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

According to Famitsu Monster hunter (and his big friend here) will be released at the end o the year, pretty much at Vita's release time.

This is gonna feel like holding the XBOX controller ... the pads are to far apart for this to useful. Dual analogs are never that far apart

According to some user at neogaf: "It is an official Nintendo product, it is called the "Expansion Slidepad", and it will be coming out some time in the future for an undetermined price."

Damn.. first Dragon Quest X and now this, What a horrible week to be a nintendo fan

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Isn't this just an attachment, in a sense, wheel for the Mario Kart game? It looks like it will be used specifically for MHTG.

So, you don't have to haul around that ugly piece of strap-on, bar few games that will make will of it.

See that is my impression, but people already jumped the gun. However it is possible they are also right, since we don't know the full facts.

So yeah it's an idea from the Monster Hunter team.
Famitsu interviewed Monster Hunter series supervisor Ryozo Tsujimoto about MHP3G and the slide pad expansion. The device provides a good grip on the system, said Tsujimoto. He jokingly referred to the expansion as a "secret weapon" which will allow you to play the game with the same feeling as playing Monster Hunter 3 on Wii

Ok guys the CC Pro was neat, this one not so much.

Well the article also say this:  "It's unclear if Nintendo made the device specifically for Monster Hunter 3G, but the device is introduced in Famitsu's reveal article on the new 3DS Monster Hunter game."

I hope this is not mandatory to play MH or any other game

Nintendo is taking the completely wrong approach to this!

*sigh*

This makes no sense at all:
-> screwing over customers who already bought the product
-> the peripheral looks like shit
-> probably a redesign next year..again screwing over customers!

I think nintendo is scared that if they dont do this, they gonna lose support from 3rd party developers. I think its seen how much games the psv is getting and it wants to get support through ports basically...thats the only logical explanation i can make out of it. The thing is they dont need those games!

Its as if they didnt make the ds and it didnt sell well...wtf. They want to try and get the hardcore gamers onto the system...but is it really worth it?

I guess we gonna be seeing a whole lot of 3DS vs. PSV comparisons.....This isnt really good for PSV either. Im not sure what the exact difference between the two is in terms of horsepower, but we might see PSV games limited because of the 3DS.
