They do have 3 year warrenty on them. Your friends may not be to bright.
They have a three year warranty on them now, not when they came out. Personally after the 2nd time I would have told MS to go back to making crappy software but some of them stuck it out. My father in law bought one just in the summer because "you are the controller". I went over to see the new improved model and does it ever get hot. Now its a door stop.
