GT5 go from 4,633 to 3,795.

Another drop even with PS3 sales up... not compute VGC.

Is it this week (VGC week) when they released the platinum edition or the next one?

Tomorrow in real life and next week for VGC... in EMEAA of course... theses numbers (3,795) are Americas only, the EMEAA had boost last week.

PS3 is the only one up. But it looks like XB360 doesn't need a price cut if MS is happy with weekly leadership and 2nd place lifetime in America, for home consoles, obviously, of which PS3 should keep weekly WW leadership for a while and keep on aim for WW 2nd place lifetime in the mid term, unless either MS or Ninty do something outstanding. 3DS down, but it could stabilize around good levels before rising again for late Autumn and holidays

Both Balance Board and Kinect dropped a lot this week: do classic controller sports blockbusters like Madden "steal" the spotlight from motion control sports and fitness games and their dedicated peripherals? Just a crazy hypothesis, but I'm puzzled, SW totals are up a lot this week in America, after another boost last week, and HW is down very little (except PS3 up and 3DS down more than the average), so either HW or SW sales ties to those peripherals should at worst take them down very little and at best even boost them, not make them drop more than 20%.

I think next week will be a down week for many of them. The significant releases this week are Resistance 3, Dead Island, and a kinect game (Rise of Nightmares) that might make a few slight ripples if any. So I doubt any of those 3 will move any significant hardware. Im expecting PS3 to drop to around 190,000 WW maybe slightly more.

Xillia is releasing next week and is looking to have a record breaking opening (for the 'Tales of' series). PS3 sales will likely be over 250k.

Forgot about the Tales of Xillia release in Japan this week. That will give a boost, but to be honest I personally highly doubt PS3 sales will reach 250,000 for next weeks WW sales figures. I don't see any other software releases pushing hardware much in Americas or Europe. Therefore I think sales of PS3s will drop slightly in those regions. The price cut effect I think will ware off just a bit in those regions, but not by a lot. I would say Xillia may boost PS3 sales in Japan, but not by such a huge margin that PS3 sales hit 250,000 world wide. At most I personally think PS3 sales will be around 200,000 next week. Even with Xillia releasing I think WW PS3 sales will be around 195,000 but no more than 200,000. And yes I could be completely wrong, but this is just my own personal intuition.

You're entitled to your opinion but I'm quite confident in my statement. History tells us that Japan, more than pretty much any other region, goes batshit over limited edition consoles. Just look at the boost that the white PS3 gave.

And that was just a new color that didn't even come with any games.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

PS3 Americas are nice but i guess with advertisement just kicking in it may finally see a significant sales boost.

Ok, thanx!

A lot of shooting, sports, and motion titles in the Americas market. Very casual audience.

We're still undertracking sales in Aus/NZ so sales will still be over 200k assuming we see adjustments for it.

I'm sorry but you really can't know that if you don't have a solid number for Australia.

If I remember Sony/NPD Australia released solid numbers last week .
