Forums - Sony Discussion - So I finished Resistance 3 last night and it was pretty disappointing.

My expectations of this were low. Resistance: Fall of Man was a breath of fresh air, but Resistance 2 had just descended into derivative shooter territory, and I somehow doubted that R3 would be any better.

Maybe they've been focusing resources on Ratchet and Clank (hah, as if) and that other shooter of theirs, which will hopefully be a great deal better than the Resistance series.

huh? I really enjoyed Resistance 2! I things its a really great shooter!
looking forward to tomorrow, gonna play the game in Co-op on highest difficulty level, we'll see if it really is 5h long :D
Anyway we also played the hell out of the Beta and it was fun at all times! so definately gonna enjoy this side too!

also Resistance is getting REALLY GOOD reviews, so your opinion stands against a lot :)

The campaign was going really well until it ended, I checked my time and I beat it in pretty much less than 5 hours. There weren't any epic boss fights like the Leviathan in R2 and it was way too easy. I thought that not having regenerating health would make the game a tad more difficult than usual shooters but enemies drop health packs every few seconds so you're never really in danger. As for the ending itself, it felt like such a cop out, it didn't even feel like  a proper closing to the story, it just ends and thats it trilogy over, no sign of a sequel coming either which I guess is a good thing.

After playing the beta throughout all of august and finally finishing the game in pretty much one day I don't think R3 is really that good. I've only seen two maps and two modes and a few weapons in the beta, but it wasn't any good. I know they're going to be more modes and more maps to explore so maybe it'll be a better experience when the servers open up and the full online is available to play. I'm not going to hold my breath though, I'll just go get Dead Island and hopefully enjoy that instead.

but Americas release date: Sep 6, 2011 and Europe release date: 9th September.

Do you come from the future?

I'm not gonna buy this from someone who posted this on his wall (before he got the game);

xinstantnoodlez updated his status:

Oh, hello Resistance 3, I don't look forward to playing you at all

Rofl This! I would like to see the trophy updates. Given the length of 1 and 2 I highly doubt it's a 5 hr campaign unless it's one of those people that play games on easy and plow through. Resistance tends to be about the range of 8-11 hrs give or take.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

why should i take a review from a guy who says 3 days ago :

"Oh, hello Resistance 3, I don't look forward to playing you at al"

then says in this very thread

"After playing the crappy beta, what makes you think I was looking forward to playing the actual game?"

if you ask me you never planned to be objective from the start...

Nah, u re just trolling, probably 360 fanboy.

Thats great you played the game and didn't like it. So why make a thread about it. How many other games have you played that you didn't like and decided to make a thread talking about it. I'm guessing none. The games not even out yet and over on N4G and here the slander has already started. Give it a break guys. If you don't like the game then move on. Stop putting doubt into other peoples minds for fuck sake.

I love the series. Thought R2 was great, Co=op is brill and is still very much alive with dozens of games being played right now but the multiplayer had a few problems like rounds that where too big and too long, Rank progress was too slow and stand offs were just rediculous but its still a great game. Was very hyped for R3 but after this thread I know I'll go into the game think its a 5 hour campaign with nothing special. Why do I always click on these slanderous threads. Fuck you very much instantnoodle

Yep of course their new franchise is going to be better than the resistance franchise. Its MULTIPLATFORM. If it was announced as a PS3 exclusive then it would be trash but no not now cause its MULTIPLAT. That is how things work right! Lol

Don't most FPS fail at single player experience now a days. They focus so much of their effort for online that single player is usually an afterthought. I know there are a few exceptions but it seems like single player FPS campaigns have lagged or become worse.

Killzone doesn't.

I'm pretty sure that's the reverse of the normal trend.

But hey, normal doesn't really exist any more this gen.
