I sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wish SE would make and HD port of this game and FFXII

Same, I think I would spend another 120 hours playing it just to see it looking more beautiful!

Anyway, the real question is do you want to complete the game or beat the game? As I have done pretty much both (though I must admit I didn't quite complete the monster arena, I just defeated Pennance)

Esentially the real aim is to beat the Dark Aeons, who are stupidly hard. So to do this, you want to max your characters out to 255 in every stat (except luck) and around 30,000 HP as you can guess this is going to take ages. So start by going to the Omega ruins, but you already have a slight issue in that you need to be capturing monsters to properly level up, so I would advise using monster capture weapons on your fighters

But if you are only doing 500 a hit, then this is a long way away (my Tidus does 99,999) so just keep going in the Omega Ruins, but if you really want to beat the game, this is the guide I used

If you don't feel like leveling up like crazy to defeat the Dark Aeons you can just use Yojimbo. Make him use his "one strike, one kill" move on them (beleive it's half your money +1 to get the best chance of getting that move). If you don't have Yojimbo, he can be found in the cave in the area between The Calm Lands and Mt. Gagazet.

You can also use Yojimbo to defeat the dark aeons.....but you will be unpopular if you do it this way and tell somebody :O

You can??????  Well not like I can try it out, but still if this game gets remade I'm gonna do it and post a hell of a lot of videos and be all like "Hey look at these suckers doing things the hard way."

Nope, it's just the normal version o.0

And you are right, they ARE a pain in the ass, Valefor was very powerful, I'll just have to avoid them.

Go hunt for dark matters, get the limit break. :P

What are dark matters? What limit break exactly?

They are something that you can customize your weapon with. 60 of them removes that pesky 9999 damage limit.

Tidus is only hitting about 500 at the moment! xD

I think I won't need that for a while yet.

... How can you be so far through the game and have Tidus only hitting 500? I was hitting over 500's by the time I was at the Mi'ihen Highroad o.O Haven't you been levelling him up?

I have =(

I honestly don't know, Auron and Wakka are only just hitting 1,000. I realised I was pretty underlevelled when I reached the Calm Lands, yet it didn't stop me, I managed to get past all the bosses including Yunalesca, mainly by using summon overdrives.

Yes you can, it worked for me with Dark Shiva (really needed to go back to that trial)..

Okay, well a little update.

The reason Tidus was hitting so low was because of the enemies defence, he still isn't hitting over 1,000 on the weaker enemies though. The Omega Ruins were going great until the enemies suddenly became harder and I died before I could get to the next Save Point, it even blocked me from fleeing (WTF).

I've decided to go ahead and kill Sin, if I want to grind I'll come back to an earlier save file.

...As for killing Sin, I am still extremely under-levelled. My main questions are:

Are there any places or towns I should visit before I go and kill Sin?
What items should I stock up or find before the battle?
What are some useful abilities I should use on my armour / weapons (sensor etc)?
Are there any good places where someone with 2,000/3,000 health could grind?

Yojimbo kills everything, if you pay enough, even Penance. But of course, you should try "proper" way, it's much fun.

But first, I would go to Monster Arena, buy catching weapons and start to catch monsters. You got lot af items as rewards, and before you catch 10 of every monsters of every area, you got lot of experience. Then, open last dungeon (and catch monsters there too).

Now, you will be probably grinding to kill every side-bosses in the game, like Dark Aeons and Arena bosses.

Well, Yunalesca is usually the hardest of the story bosses to beat imo (or maybe Seymour sometimes), so you should probably be fine. Even if you go to Sin, you can still go back if you find out the monsters are too hard.

One of the easier powerboosts you can get is getting some of the stronger Aeons such as Anima or the Magus Sisters. Some of the ultimate weapons actually aren't that difficult to get either.

Oh, it would also be great if Yuna has learned holy, really a great help.

That is called cheating, and I am not convinced about that money equation, there is certainly some chance to it
