Forums - PC Discussion - Deus Ex vs X-COM

Tagged games:

So recently I was brought upon a very difficult question. Frankly the question totally blew my mind and I have yet to come to a conclusion. Anyone I have asked this of, has also come to the same conclusion more or less. Basically, which one of those games would you say are better, personal preference aside?

Edit: I am obviously talking about the first Deus Ex and the first two X-COMs.

Personal Preference aside?

I'd say X-com... if only because it handles alien invasions better then anything else made. Except maybe some books I haven't read.

It seems like the most "realistic" approach to alien hunting ever and creates a super unique gameplay method because the scenario needs a unique gameplay method.

As it is though i've yet to fully get into it since i just bought it recently and i'm overwhelmed by the options and finding a good starting strategy.

X-com: Enemy Unknown.. you really needed brains to finish that game.. and the alien sniper attacks made me more frustrated with a game then ever before and in the years after the release.. -_-"

I was disappointed with Shadow Wars, the game being made by the guy who made X-COM.

Shadow Wars, I played 1 play through and hadn't played it again. It was only good while it lasted during that play through.

Meanwhile, X-COM is different each time you restart.

X-com, hands down. But then again I also prefer that type of game.
