Forums - Gaming Discussion - what do you think of the new Deus Ex game?

So what do you think of it? I never played the last one,but I like the concept and want to know if the game was worth the hype.

I only got to play a little of it last night, but so far, I really like it. I didn't think it was going to be my type of game, but it's done really well.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I am interested to see everyone's opinion as I don't trust review scores (hyped multi-plat game = high scores automatically [Except Duke Nukem]).

All I can say is boss battles are a bitch on hard settings. Excluding that I am having fun.

I get it tomorrow cant wait to try it.

Played about 2 hours so far. Had to get use to the controls first and then I really enjoyed it. The gameplay looks a little bit like a fusion between Batman Arkham stealth elements and a FPS with RPG sauce...

Played a bit of it so far. The controls are ok but i wish you can customize it. I kind of had a bit of a headache playing th beginning part but im sure ill get use to it. Playing on normal mode and seem to die quite fast. I must suck.

Best game I've played in years. 4 hours in and i already know its going to be my GOTY

Yep, i'm a girl

I played the original and I'm enjoying this one quite a bit. I've always been a fan of stealthy game play, big in-depth storylines and Blade Runner-esque atmosphere. Oh, and stabbing people with cyborg arm blades. That never gets old.

"But I don't want to go among mad people!" said Alice. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat. "We're all mad here."

I am 7 hours in, and i wont ruin anything for you, but its a really good game if you like games in which you can explore and uncover things about the world, complete interesting side missions and find a bunch of interesting things. The missions are pretty good as well.

Saying that, i am 7 hours in and i decided that i will play it out as a stealth / nice guy that doesn't kill anyone unless they cross the line. Saying that What really got me angry at the moment is that i am stealth focus so all my points have been put into hacking (oh hacking is pretty good as well) and some stealth stuff and yet they have thrown in A combat focused boss fight???? I am still on it and i dont get it. Why have they got all these options that you can choose that are un combat related and yet throw in a combat boss fight. Being that i am not combat and enjoying the thrill of sneaking around unaware guards, i have only picked up weapons so i can sell them off, but haven't really picked up much weapons or ammo. So this Boss fight has really caught me me off guard and is a major design flaw that I fought the devs were better not to have.

Other than that issue i have with the game, i am really enjoying it right now, and i already have some replay value that i am going to try, when i play the game as a combat focused person that is a renegade that lets my gun do the talking. So there is heavy amounts of replay ability, exploring and a wide range of options to be done. And i have only played 7 hours and only up to the 4th main mission.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
