It appears Insomniac won't be making another Resistance game after R3.

Here is a sample of the interview:

Gaming Union: "Insomniac seems pretty busy at the moment - Ratchet & Clank is going strong, OverStrike is on the way, etc.. Is Resistance still your flagship franchise? Where does the series fit in the studio's future plans?"

Marcus Smith: "As far as Insomniac goes... you're right. We've got three different games with very different focuses. We're kind of going in a lot of different directions. Ted Price, Alex and Brian Hastings, the owners, have been doing this for a long time - something like 15 years of doing Sony exclusive games - and they're just interested in doing other things."

I wonder if this is a misquote or taken out of context. If not Sony should be scared.

Sony has nothing to be scard of. Insomniac hasn't made any blockbuster games in a while. There will likely be very people that care about Insomniac moving on.

well like God of War3(everybody The insignificant minority said something was missing when jaffe left) and DMC it seems when the original team leaves the game some of the life is gone from the franchise.

That's an absolute nonsense claim, not only did GOW3 receive more critical acclaim (93 reviews were 9+, of those 23 were 10/10) but if you go on dedicated fan sites and Facebook groups etc, the polls show that the vast majority voted GOW3 as their favourite in the series, by a huge margin too. Please refrain from sharing nonsense with no factual basis with the Vgchartz community and let that be the end of it, I don't want to derail this thread.

On topic: Whilst Resistance 1 & 2 are good games and 3 looks to be great, I'd like to see some creative new IPS from Insomniac. This is good news if it's true.

They were at their best making fun and vibrant games. So this is a good news for me.

wht ever dud. it was missing something. we've already had that conversation on VGC already. other sites and critic's mean thing cause VGC is where i'm at.

hey you guys messed up the thread

I'm a little disappointed. I'm not the type of person that likes a favorite series continue forever, all good things have to come to an end. But, it seems Resistance will keep going under a new roof. Spyro and Crash didn't see any good, then again they were with Activision.

I'd like to see the series end with 3, since it looks like it's going to be the best in the series, but as long as Sony thinks it can make money off the IP, they will milk it. I applaud Insomniac for doing this, I just really hope they don't feel the same way about Ratchet and Clank (which is a fantastic and fun series I hope never dies.)

I am worried about that "we've made PS exclusives for years, we wanna branch out" attitude though. Their games helped to make PS3 worth having, if they go to 360 that's just one more thing that makes the two systems undefined. Exclusives are what make them unique and without them they're just two identical consoles with virtually identical libraries.

then again, I do kind of understand WHY they're doing it, the economy's in the toilet and everyone's gotta make a buck, going multiplatform could be great for them, but I'll continue to buy their products on PS3. Overstrike actually looks like a LOT of fun.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Insomniac never develops again a PS3 exclusive.

They are acting like that, because even though they created the game, they don't own it; Sony does. That is why insomniac decided to go with another publisher; they wanted to retain their IPs.

WTF HAPPENED?!! LOOKS LIKE THE COD ADD IS SCREWING THE SITE.

I AM WRITING IN Jay520 comment...WTH?!?!!!

HEEEEEEEEELP!!! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

It is really weird because it is only happening in the 3rd page of the comments.

This is really the only forum where I've seen this many thread-breaking bugs. At first it was funny, now it's becoming slightly annoying already...
