Forums - Gaming Discussion - I just figured Nintendo consoles out...

The Gamecube was the kind console you wish you had in hindsight when the N64 was released.

The Wii is the kind of console you wish you had in hindsight when the Gamecube was released.

The Wii U is the kind of console you wish you had in hindsight when the Wii was released.

So the NES 7 is probably going to be everything you wished the Wii U was.

Essentially Nintendo makes you wait a generation before they give you the console you should have had in the previous generation!

Good things take time?

Rol's are better.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Hey, this is fun!

The Dreamcast was the kind of system you wish you had when the Saturn was released.

The 3DS is the kind of system you wish you had when the Virtual Boy was released.

And the Atari 2600 was the kind of system you wish you had when the Jaguar was released.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

You're more or less right on the nose here. Wii is what GameCube should have been, and Wii U is where Wii should have been. The entire landscape would be different, and much more strongly in Nintendo's favor.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

While it would have been downright amazing to have Wii visuals and the controller back in 2000, it would have been completely infeasible for Nintendo to do that...

But, given the fact that this thread is rather facetious, I'll go along with the facetious route and agree with the premise. It would have been awesome to have each console an entire generation before it came out!

Same thing applies to the handheld line, still hasn't ever stopped Nintendo from releasing some of very best games I've ever played.

The N64 needed two analogue sticks and an optical drive which is what the Gamecube had. The Gamecube needed to differentiate itself from the competition which is what the Wii was and the Wii needed to cater to a *complete* broader audience with better third party support which is what the Wii U is. Effectively the Wii U is two of what the Wii should have been duct taped together.

Nintendo are far too conservative for their own good!

NES didn't have a predecessor.
SNES was what NES should have been.
SNES was what N64 should have been.
Gamecube was cool though.
SNES was what Wii should have been.
SNES is what WiiU should be.

I wish I had a PS3 when everyone had a PSX.
