If you can't relate to Squall then the story will be horrible.

I can relate to Squall, don't see the hate for him, he gets better and changed throughout the game too.

I absolutely agree with you, that's why I absolutely love this game.  You know Squall starts off very stoic, doesn't want to get involved to much with people, then he slowly starts to change, slowly starts to appreciate people, learns to start relying on other, etcs.  It makes me sad that people can't appreciate the slow changes in Squall.  I mean they complain that he's emo (Which he's not), yet if he wasn't on that extreme at the begining,  he wouldn't be able to change nor develop as a character which is what character development is about.

I can relate to that character, though I haven't got to the part in which I start to care for others. Maybe because I was way younger at the time, it made a big impression on me. Though I haven't finished the game in a true sense.

It happens on the second disc, a little after everyone gets rescued.  It's not a huge thing, it's a slow build that works through till near the end of the third disc.

Nay, I totally understand. I was refering to myself and how cold of a person I am most of the time. As for the game, I've "finished it" but since I was really young at the time (I think I was 7 or 8) I couldn't really understand it, so I can't appreciate the plot in a whole sense.

Ah sorry dude, mis understood you.

I liked FF8 better than 7 and 9. Some people are just weird.

For me it is one of the best Final Fantasy games; second to FFVII

I am in some ways like Squall, I don't like to depend others and I always avoid awkward social moments. I always like to be the leader, but I'm not very talkative.

I don't blank people or act rude to them though.

The bit that I really found relatable was the voices in his head, it's exactly the same thing I would be thinking in that same moment or situation.

I enjoyed it though the magic system is a little annoying when you want to get your party some magic and have to drawn it bit by bit from an enemy.

I liked FF8 better than FFV,FF7, FF9, FFX and FFXIII (the worst). The 10/10 final fantasies games for me are IV, VI, VIII and XII.

simple , is shojo, but is still one of the best.

Exactly this. It's not like one choses to be that way, and that character represents a tiny, but yet existant portion of reality.
