Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft: 3DS is dead if it fails during Holidays

Ubisoft has set a time table for the Nintendo 3DS.

According to Ubisoft's European sales and marketing manager, Nintendo 3DS software sales have increased "eight fold."

"So far retail is not euphoric. The fact that 3DS-software is still treated with great caution in the initial and repeat orders, we see that retail waits for the commercial development. It will be important to watch 3DS when the big Nintendo-titles are out there on holiday season. If the machine does not sell then, it´s definitely dead," Ubisoft added.

Nintendo may have some stout competition this Holiday season with PlayStation Vita. However, Nintendo has a robust lineup of titles set to release during the Holidays. Brand recognition for games like Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are sure to increase 3DS sales exponentially.

GameStop has also seen a significant sales increase for Nintendo 3DS due to its recent price cut.

I say Ubisoft is overreacting, just looking at this weeks sales, 3DS should have good momentum going into the holidays.

Around the Network

I do agree they are overreacting but, there is defiantly a need for concern for the 3DS still with how unstable Nintendo has been acting as of late on various of situations.

Former something....

Never mind, this was already posted.

lol Ubisoft. We all know Mario 3d and Mario Kart are gonna move tons of 3ds.

The real question is how bad Sony dug their own grave by skipping a holiday release in NA and Europe.

Your focusing on the wrong hardware Ubisoft....at least 3ds will be AVAILABLE this holiday and therefore is bound to sell.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
