PS3: More diverse exclusives and rely on word of mouth for legs
Xbox360: Few exclusives with tons of marketing

PS3 owners don't preorder (myself included).

And 360 assassins cree does not outsell PS3 verison anymore check 2 and brotherhood numbers

most who buy kinect are either kids or parents, you just fail again like i said gt outsold most xbox exclusive and ps3 has more game to choose from rather than just 2 games, you know game isnt just about shooter, ppl will like more varity, and i bet ur are a 12 years old kids, you know not only kid game on console, and sorry north america isnt the whole world, ps3 is currently outplacing xbox worldwide. you logic doesnt make any scense at all, just because you think fps is the best doesnt mean other ppl should follow. and i mean mgs 4 is close to gear of war 1, PS stop using halo as defend, thats the only HARDCORE game thats more popular than ps3 games. if you are a real gamer, dont even mention kinect.

Honestly the number of exclusives isnt that relevant.. the GOAL of each console maker is to sell alot of games.. Sony's strategy is to publicly talk about having alot of exclusives.. but these arent the good old PS2 days.. 3rd party or 1st party matters less.. Most of the good games are multi platform titles now..

total ps3 excusive sold: 64.72 total xbox exclusive sold: 64.46, see??? even if halo is in the list all the ps3 exclusive combine still outsold all the xbox combine

360 has alot of good games, not just Halo...but PS3 fans think because Halo sells 8 to 10 million and it gets so much attention that its all they have... Honestly I know a few people with PS3's ( like my brother who has all 3 current gen consoles )... and they all play mostly COD... Im in the USA... FPS's are what rule in the USA... and evidentally they are what sell in EMEAA areas best.. because COD did well there too...  I dont see how the 'hardcore' PS3 fans somehow think a system in 3rd place with games sales that ARE in a distant 3rd place have so much to offer...There is SOMETHING CALLED Supply and DEMAND... People demand good products.. GREAT games sell ALOT of copies if they are exclusives or not it doesnt matter... The only thing that matters is what people want.. and evidentally they prefer being soldiers with guns because there ARE alot of diverse games on the 360 as well... 360 has alot of exclusives.. good ones.. if you like racing Forza motorsport is decent.. sold 4 million.. not great, but not bad.. its a newer title that doesnt have the history around it GT has obviously..and young kids really dont like racing.. the top 5 exclusives on 360 have sold close to the top 5 on PS3.. plain and simple.. this thread is about exclusives.. but the fact is Sony Exclusives arent helping as much as PS3 hard fanboys would like..  Id go as far as saying 90% of 360 owners were PS2 fans.. I had a PS2.. it was the system of choice.. I had over 30 games I owned.. I didnt like how Sony handled the PS3 from the start.. and I still play MGS on my brothers PS3.. its fun.. but the ridiculous notion the 360 has so  many less choices and also has no diversity is wishful thinking.. The truth is there is so much focus on COD and Halo and Gears mainly because thats what kids would rather play.. If you ask 100 18 yr olds what they would rather play.. COD on PS3 or GT.. COD will win.. If you ask the same question for the 360.. COD or HALO over Forza or Dirt.. FPS will win out.. its not about exclusives really.. there are alot of choices on both system.. the fact is.. FPS sell best on BOTH systems.. Sony needs more development for a kick ass FPS exclusive.. because really kids want this..

Ok first you're NOT Listing the complete list of PS3 or 360 EXCLUSIVES ...and there are also no solid numbers showing what the 360 exclusives have sold on XB LIVE.. I downloaded Reach after my store bought version was stolen.. XB LIVE has over 100 games for download and sales are not tracked yet.. 

But even if we go by YOUR LIST  you've helped make my point.. GOING by the LIST of SUPPOSEDLY A MUCH MORE AWESOME CHOICE of EXCLUSIVES on the PS3 over the Xbox 360.. ALL those games and the difference in sales in less then 300k units ! ... So all this bitching and moaning and  talk of how much better Sony exclusives are and how many more propaganada talks so we can all feel good we bought a PS3 talk.. and the difference between the two consoles is 300k units !   your list also proves that many of the exclusives are not console selling titles.. if you look at the top 5 EXCLUSIVES on either console.. those are the Console sellers..

Your numbers above also prove that Multi-platform titles maybe the future of gaming, not exclusives.. LESS companies are loyal.. less companies want to make exclusives.. many Sony exclusives went to MS and/or back to Nintendo ( where they were before PS1 back in the old Nintendo days )...  Take a look at the list of Non Exclusive games selling much better and the difference between the 360 and PS3 is over 100 million game units..

I'd say this.... the more consoles you sell in a region, the more likely your exclusives will outperform your multi-plats.

The less consoles you sell the less likely your exclusives will outperform your multi-plats.

Reason? Word of mouth, if your the only one with a PS3, the only hype your getting (outside of online) is for multiplat games from your 360 friends.


If you think this is some issue now.... you should check back when the PS3 was at dreamcast level sales.

There are a lot of exclusives left off of that list for both consoles, mainly the 360, so I hope that was sarcasm. Both companies have very different strategies when it comes to 1st and 2nd party development which is why this whole feud is next to pointless.
