Perhaps PS3 owners are waking up and noticing that CoD is the same shit every year but in a slightly different package?

Am I the only one who actually likes CoD here? Or anywhere on the internet? I don't play online that much, but I enjoy the single player games. BLOPS actually made a good attempt at story, and i enjoyed the theme and setting. As for MW 2, its story wasn't as good as 4, but Captain Price was still there with a mustache and I have spent ages doing Spec Ops. (Yeah WaW wasn't that great, but still very playable, especially with Keifer Sutherland doing some VO)

Yes.. all those preorders went to Resistance 3... *looks at chart* ...see...

yea IMO Reisstance looks to be the better game anyway. getting it. i'll never own a COD game.

I owned one unfortunately. MW2, what a shite game that was! I was left feeling so unfulfilled. The airport scene was silly (I massacred everyone), and the whole game just stunk! and i got my ass handed to me in multiplayer, so I dropped it. I generally get my ass handed to me in console multiplayer FPSs. I seem to shine on PC multiplayer FPSs (keyboard and mouse baby!), which is why I foamed at the mouth at the announcement of CS:GO by valve!

Yeah, I'm getting Resistance 3 fo sho, skipping on MW3, and thinking about Battlefield 3.

i fill your pain. i was forced to play MW2 because my younger brother inlaw was being a bitch about me not playing. and then my nephew always wanted me to play the damned zombie mode and recently he wanted to go against me in BOps

so i took him on and he did that quick scoping thing and i told him to try no scoping. he didn't think i could no scope him for 2 reasons but it was hard for 3 reasons so for 3 matches strait i noscoped the piss out of him winning 7 of the 10 matches(spnipers)

online i covered for a friend and always eneded even. the COD games suck ass.

i mostly play'd KZ2 online until the glitchers started coming in droves late last yr, so that and a few more reasons keep me away from KZ3 online. loved the KZ3 campaign though.

never play'd  CS:GO but looking forward to it

Have you never had a try with Counter Strike? I don't know why exactly, but I find it a timeless FPS multiplayer. I've played it for about 10 years now. I think I am just turned away by all the perks, skills, abilities,or whatever they call them as you level up in current console FPS'. Cause I don't play anywhere near as much as the average 12 year old gamer, so they're all stacked with these crazy skills and my level 1 noobish character gets constantly massacred. It's bad enough that I don't excel at console FPS' as I do on PC due to the controls, these extra perks leave the game more uneven. Counter Strike is pure fuckin skill. You play for 10 years straight and a noobie comes in day 1, and apart from actual skills, both your characters are at the same level, no perks, no nothing. It's a beautiful thing. And I hope valve does not add a leveling up system in to modernise the game with the release of CS:GO next year, but I don't think they will do that.

These figures are truly meaningless, because the two communities are distinctly different. The 360 community is far more bleeding edge. While the PS3 community is far more relaxed and latent. Typically there are more 360 players that are apt to feel that they have to be playing the game one hour after launch with all the bells and whistles. It is both equal parts status and experience. Blame it on Lives interface, or on the weak launch of the PS3 creating more of a subdued mindset.

The truth is 360 owners are just more hip. They got to be part of the scene. They got be part of the launch party, and they simply must have the gear to back them up. I confess to being incredibly guilty of this myself. I was one of those people standing in line for the Halo 3 launch. Fifty minutes after launch I was playing the campaign in full cooperative mode with friends, and we didn't stop until we polished the game off as the sun was coming up. Hell some of my friends played a full twenty four hours before they passed out.

What is kind of hilarious is the fear this instills in people. We should know there will be more then enough copies, but a lot of us feel we need that guarantee. That no matter what we will have that game. Yes the need to be part of it all is so great we actually seem to conjure up unrealistic fears. Hell when I bought Halo 3 I got in the line for the sale two hours before launch. By the time of launch the people at the back of the line were starting to look terrified.

Probably the best part of walking out after my purchase was taunting the late arrivals. It didn't take much at all to set them off. I just pulled out my cell phone, and pretended to talk to someone about them only having less then a hundred copies left. Which wasn't true mind you, but I got a good chuckle from watching those people spasm, and start to panic. The fear was so palpable on their faces.

Anyway it probably has almost everything to do with a irrational fear/need then it does with any subjective value judgement being made. Not saying it is right or wrong. I rather like the whole community experience that Live has going for big launches. Doesn't necessarily make me buy a certain game, but if I am going to buy such a game I think I like being part of the whole launch party. It makes me feel a little more special and cool then I really am.

So these numbers are only representative of the different attitudes at play in each community, and for those that are going off on the software sales tandem. Have we really learned nothing over the years. Microsoft wages, and wins its war in the fourth quarter. To be honest the entire industry is end heavy thanks to climactic change, and the holiday season. It is kind of like judging the meal on what was served as a appetizer. Wait till you get to the meat before you commit.

Your not, i like BLOPS its not something i play all the time. I play the online every now and then. I like it, i dont love it. I rather play KZ3 or Goldeneye or even UNcharted 2 online, but its alright. I hated MW2 so im gonna skip 3.

On a side note, do people forget that MS still has that exclusive ads thing going?? That could be a reason why the preorders are higher. There are acutually fools i met that really thought COD was exclusive to 360!! Thats real ignorance, the only one that was exclusive was the original and even that is on  PSN/LIVE now

To people saying pre-ordering is pointless your wrong it has two major incentives.

1. You get the pre-order bonuses which often times are pretty freaking sweet. Like how both Assassins Creed and Battlefield 3 get autoupgraded to the Collectors edition just for pre-ordering.
2. You can use it like layaway that way you don't have to drop $60 at once and can just put like $10 a week down on it till it releases

but either way OT trust me MW3 will crush any exclusive PS3 game this holiday so that is certainly not the reason why numbers seem low for MW3 on PS3.

1. Not very many people (PS3 owners) know about such pre order deals. And PS3 games usually have a higher increase than 360 games from pre orders to final week according to the preorder data.

2. And yes games games like BF3 and Uncharted 3 are pretty likely to do 1 million + WW in the first week on PS3 and MW3 will outsell any PS3 game that is out unless it gets horrible reviews and it will outsell every 360 game with the exception of Modern Warfare 3 on the opposing system

3. U.S. is not the PS3's strongest market while 360 lives and eats pretty much only in America. So lets not forget WW the PS3 version of COD will do more than double the American sales WW, while the 360 version will do maybe 30% more WW.

4. PS3 owners tend preorder less and buy more on the FW while 360 owners tend to preorder more and buy on the FW a bit less.

You guys do realize the whole theory of PS3 owners pre-order less but actually go out and buy the game at a higher rate than 360 owners is totally false right.

The only reason this theory exists is because vgchartz generally undertracks PS3 pre-orders in NA which makes it seem that way. Both console owners pre-order at the exact same rate.

there will be 15-20 million units of MW3 avaiable at launch, there wont be no shortage.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

never heard of it till just afew days ago. this gen is when the modern shooter died, but i will not be killed by some untrained noobes who cry when there panties are wet.

i am a soldier of war. a gaming soldier of war and i have proven time and time again to these youngsters that old school PC (i play the same on both with the same philosophy and thats to striff)and homeconsole skill's always pay off.
