They wouldn't have to even come down to earth. They could just shoot probes down filled with some sort of manufactured plague. We can do it, why can't a more advance alien life form do it. We would never even see them.

They only have to use some alien nukes and it's all over.

We wouldn't stand a chance in a conventional war.

Their technology in general would be so far ahead of ours to allow inter solar system travel.

We are assuming that they are militaristic enough to simply attack us as opposed to diplomacising. I think it very likely that such an aggressive species will have put a similar amount of their scientific research into warfare as we did. Therefore, their technology will be vastly superior.

If they came to wipe us out, we would die, with the possible exception of disease killing off the invaders a la war of the worlds. If they came to enslave us, we would probably eventually win/force them to give up.

Really, GOD? I still cannot understand how educated people still use this "creator" as an excuse for everything. I would have assumed that if alien life existed, it would once and for all end religous beliefs as it would throw everything ever said by any so called messiah into question. I mean if these people actually spoke to "god" as they say, why did he not mention these other civilizations?

My opinion is there is more chance of alien existence than the existance of a creator. but each to their own i suppose
