I don't have any pictures of it, but ONM has just revealed that this holiday, a new-look Wii console wikll release in the UK.
I don't know if it will come to other places too.

It will come in a bundle together with Wii Party and Wii Sports and won't be compatible with GameCube.

Don't know why Nintendo would change the look of the console, as I feel that it's a part of the whole "Wii" image.

It's been revealed that this console will not be compatible with GameCube games or accessories.

Sounds good. Nintendo might be gearing up for a €99 Wii price next year.

I don't get it... will it at least come with Wii Motion Plus built in? Maybe raise the chances of a game or two built around it?

Party pooper! I've been thinking on getting the black Wii and the news of this redesign would have been interesting.

I'm guessing this was a move to increase profits and give Nintendo some more price cutting leverage. This new model doesn't need the controller ports or memory card units. Cutting I dunno 10$ from the price or maybe a tad more. I don't know what other hardware was required to play GCN games.

But now with this new hardware maybe Nintendo can cut its price when Wii launches. Also the console appears it might be even smaller then the current Wii and probably lighter. I bet customers will love it and Nintendo knows when WiiU launches they will need to cut Wii's price accordingly! So good for both Nintendo and the consumer!

As to why -well, they removed GC BC, maybe some otehr things, so it will probably be even cheaper than now. If it is $99 in the US even I might get one myself for my bedroom so I can play late at night those 100hr + games I never find the time for (MHTri, Metroid Trilogy, Xenoblade soon).

Yeah... kinda jumped the gun on that Motion Plus thing...

Regarding playing in the bedroom, isn't that what the WiiU Pad will be for?

At black friday they should reduce the price, then it should fly off the shelves.
