The story is great so far. I'm not very far in the game, but it's awesome.

That's good to hear. Now if only it will show up today. ; ;
Wow, so I think that I will end up wrong in saying that it'll end up below 90.
Awesome!

So? lol I can rephrase if you want. Wii fans, PS3 fans, 360 fans, whatever are wrong to assume that Xenoblade will be marked down just for being a Wii game. |
It won't be marked down for being Wii game - in fact this can only help due to lack of any high quality titles that would set bar high.
But it will suffer from typical jRPG hate - jRPG are not evolving blah blah blah emo heroes with big swords blah blah blah 7/10 ;)
Just wait till typical jRPG haters start posting reviews and the score will dive.

I think Xenoblade will be a fantastic game but I doubt that this game will push the genre forward. Nothing I have seen so far inclines that this game is any different than previous JRPGs. Though that isn't a bad thing.

oh you will find out when you play, I don't spoil story stuff on forums but I do have videos from my past live streams from the past few days and it's definitely not a traditional JRPG, the world is as big as MMOs and there are a shit ton of things to do, it's almost like a single-player WoW but you play at your own pace at all times, you also have to constantly watch for many factors when fighting mobs and bosses or they'll own your ass with ease, there is very little room to exploit mechanics if at all unlike all other JRPGs I've played this gen.

To add my experience from it and from some reviews which I've read, they say the story starts off slow and typical (and I agree), but after about 5 hours it really picks up, with many twists, turns and sub-plots underway you'll want to finish the game just for that.
That, and of course the whole bond-bulding and heart-to-hearts (which, if you didn't know, are like skits but you choose your dialogue, the outcome changing your relationship with the character and maybe even the story), and many other things which I'll put in my full review, means it's a truly absorbing and atmospheric game, which I'm sure you'll love.
Also, anyone out there on the fence, just get it. You won't regret it. Trust me.
6 hours into the game, and it's great so far. The history seems rather deep, and has tons of things to do, lots of secondary missions...
